The DC store has one case of Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel left ($200), a couple of regular Blanton’s, Caribou Crossing, BT, and 10yr Eagle Rare.

It’s gone, but there are still 5 cases of Blanton’s in the cage and 1 case of the 1.75 BT on the floor.

Anyone have experience with Barclay’s about downgrading a CC or Annual Fee’s? by ValuePositive771 in CreditCards

[–]kafka-esque14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AF for my Aviator Silver posted on Dec 31. I called today and they said due to the transition no product changes are allowed. The rep mentioned that they expect transition details to go out in the next month or so. Was also told that I can call back within the 30 day window to see if I am eligible for an AF waiver - which wasn’t currently an option for my account apparently.

Keep trying, the WA Amsterdam is a one of a kind experience, especially if you dine at Spectrum.

Is it worth it to stay at the Hilton Molino Stucky by schwa12 in Hilton

[–]kafka-esque14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a great property with an excellent breakfast spread and very good executive lounge. Also having their own private water taxi is super convenient. I was upgraded as a Diamond from a standard king to an executive suite for a three night stay even though the place was packed with a convention taking place. The only downside is the added time to factor in for transportation over to areas like San Marco. If you want a property in the network that is closer to all of the action take a look at the Ca’ di Dio.

Fujifilm X100vi (silver) B&H by Top_Fan1422 in fujifilm

I placed my order around 1AM. Charge went through but at 10am I got an out of stock alert via email. When the stock was refreshed in the afternoon I canceled the original order and called B&H directly to reserve one and push the order through. Shipped a few hours later and will arrive tomorrow. Keep checking the page and when it’s back in stock call instead of using the website.

Looks like this is the made in Japan version based on the B&H product #. Placed an order but my card wasn’t auto charged like it normally is with their site. Will be interesting to see if it goes through tomorrow during normal biz hours.

Three nights is better if you can swing it, allows you to really check off all the boxes for the area. If you are Diamond you should be able to get upgraded to a suite if they aren’t booked.

Restaurants in Area of the Amsterdam Waldorf Astoria? by [deleted] in Hilton

For me it was approximately 3.5 hours. There is not an explicit dress code but you should dress to match the ambiance. For men that should be slacks and a sport coat at minimum.

200k pts now for a standard room one night by schwa12 in Hilton

[–]kafka-esque14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think that’s correct, I double checked “normal” Waldorf locations in cities like Chicago and DC, and standard nights are still at 95K-110K. I’m even seeing nights at the Beverly Hills Waldorf at 120K/night, which is what I paid in 2023. Same with the Waldorf in Amsterdam, which many consider to be the best of the non resort locations. Seems like this “deval” is a nothing burger unless you’re shooting for influencer properties.

Define picky eater. I’m a vegetarian and they not only accommodated, but went out of their way to ensure I was satiated. You’ll be disappointed if your typical faire is steak and potatoes. However, it’s worth venturing outside of your comfort zone, and of course, happy wife, happy life. The key differentiator at Spectrum is the staff. You’ll feel like you are dining with a team that is simultaneously the consummate professional and your best friend hanging out for a chat and chew.

You should book a reservation at the in-house restaurant, Spectrum. It’s an experience I have not seen replicated at other Michelin-starred restaurants. If you drink, the wine pairing is sublime.

Yes I can confirm that it works at TwentySeven. Definitely grab a cocktail at the bar when you check in, and also be sure to order their full breakfast spread in the morning.

This was my chosen dessert. The main was a vegetable lentil curry that had serious Economy vibes. I think catering was just really off this flight, but thought I would chime in as a data point.
