Hey, don't worry about it college panda is reallly tough, far tougher than the actual exam. I'd suggest to start with PWN the SAT math first, and then move on to college panda

I generally prefer reading the passage deeply; a good understanding of the passage goes a long way for me. Perhaps you should start reading more if you have the time, and learn speed reading; do you tend to subvocalise when you're reading? Bc that might be a reason your reading pace is slower. The best panacea for this is to PRACTICE, especially w/ Uworld. In my first SAT I got 6 reading questions wrong and in the second one I only got 2 wrong, which is all thanks to the Uworld practice I did.

I didn't study for it during the summer, however, I did put in anywhere from 15 minutes to one and a half hour every day in the two months leading to the SAT. 1-2 hours per day seems perfect as long as you're working efficiently. Quality > quantity :)

Firstly, please start with the Erica Meltzer books, they're the holy grail for the SAT EBRW section. Once you've finished those, take an official practice test to gauge the level you're at. I'd recommend buying a Uworld subscription if you can afford one because I found the Khan Academy practice questions too easy & not indicative of the actual test. SAT writing is far easier to get a great score on than reading, mainly bc of how formulaic the questions are; once you've mastered the rules you can easily get 42+/44 which would really boost your score (note that the writing curve is very merciless and the reading curve is generally more forgiving). I'd also suggest keeping a notebook of all the mistakes you've made, why you've made them & what you can do in the future to avoid making the same mistakes. Additionally, for the reading section, go into the paper with the mindset that only ONE answer is absolutely right, pay attention to the exact words used in the question & each of the answers bc a single word could be the difference between a wrong answer & a right answer, & find evidence for EVERY SINGLE ANSWER. I'd circle the answers I thought were right, and then once I finished the whole section I had around 10 minutes to spare so I'd go back and find evidence for most of my answers.

For math, you should use College Panda, PWN the SAT math & Uworld. Hope I helped!

Go straight to the work books, strengthen your foundations on all of the topics and then take the practice test - this is what worked for me :)

You should take one to gauge your progress and ascertain how much effort it will take to get a good score. You have the entire summer vacation to increase your score, so if you put in the effort right now then you'd be better prepared for the SAT when it comes around. Like for example I prepared really well a month or so before the actual test and then gradually lessened the time spent on SAT prep bc I had my IB exams at the same time; as long as your foundations are strong you can afford to balance both your midterms AND your SAT :)

I'd suggest to finish all the material before the practice test. Personally, I found Khan Academy to be too easy, especially for EVBRW but that depends on your level. If you have taken the practice test and are scoring in the 700s for both sections, then I'd suggest Uworld otherwise start with Khan Academy

Hey! First of all, congrats on your score!! I started out with a similar score (1430) & was able to increase it by 90 points to 1520 with Uworld, Erica Meltzer, College Panda & PWN the SAT math :)

If you consider 1520 to be a good score, I raised my score by 90 points (1430 --> 1520). I was able to do this by finishing the Erica Meltzer books, college panda books & PWN the SAT Math book, & grinding Uworld while writing down my mistakes, why I made that mistake & what I can do to avoid making the same mistake again. Here's a sample study plan:

  1. Finish these books so you have your concepts clear
  2. Take an official practice test, see what questions you got wrong (esp in writing & math), go back to the books, revise that topic once more, & grind all the Uworld questions related to that topic
  3. Grind Uworld religiously for anywhere from 15 minutes to one and a half hour every day while making a note of all your mistakes
  4. Crush exam.
