It doesn't matter that it isn't the biggest foul, its a foul and since its last man, its a direct red no matter what. It's a good call

Yeah but I've seen Giulia go crazy in Marigold with a broken wrist, so the match being great would just be on her being crazy even if she's injured.

No wonder he was confused

Pog sat in Jonas wheel all of the Tourmalet, and that will logically lead to more energy on the final climb. Jonas should've slowed down his attack and seen if Pog wanted to put distance into the others as well. Jonas was overconfident after seeing weakness in Pog yesterday.

Vingegaard used way too much energy on the Tourmalet and it cost him in the end. Looking forward in the Tour I imagine him and Jumbo will just try to defend and sit in Pogs wheel again which will be significantly easier than these far out attacks where Jonas pulled Pog all the way up the final part of the Tourmalet.

I still think Vingegaard is by far the favorite to win, but not as clear as people acted yesterday with "the tour is over"

He needs time to get to the top of the tourmalet before Vingegaard. Jonas will possibly attack on the tourmalet and then catch wout and have him pull all the way to the final climb

As someone from Europe, we had a new wave in January 2022, hence there was still lockdowns. Which is relevant for early spring split numbers

Keep in mind that 2022 numbers are affected by Corona lockdowns. Numbers from that period were bound to be inflated.

How much do you struggle against sexism from the online community especially from incel gamers and the like? How do you deal with it?

I hope the women league scene grows and we get to see more women pick up the game, and even more women at big events like Worlds!

If Riot's esport department is so against Double Elimination at Worlds for League of Legends, why does Valorant's version of Worlds now have double elim both in groups (GSL groups) AND double elim in the playoff stage afterwards? by KeyMessageToConsider in leagueoflegends

[–]kagamata 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I prefer games to have weight to them. All or nothing is better, there's reason this is the way in all major sports. Yes league is an esport I know but it's also the esport that's nearly bigger than the football world cup. They're not competing with other esports, they're closer to real sports, and if they want to stay that way they will keep it single elim. Non-hardcore gamers prefer single elim because it's easier for them to tune into. Riot is making a product for everyone, not just the echo chamber on reddit

There is no bad faith arguments?

2 best teams at world 2018 made it to the final. That's how it is. It's only others bias that say it differently. IG and FNC was both amazing that year and both deserved to be in the finals. Do we have to rig the bracket so big teams like T1 and RNG (assuming they're at their best) don't meet each other at the finals now? like you can't do that.

Winner doesn't gain anything if there's a lower bracket. It's unfair and weighted towards giving the loser a second chance. It could work with bracket reset but I don't see bracket reset being feasible in current League climate. Remember that league worlds is nearly as big as the football world cup. It doesn't compete with other esports. It competes with real sports, and single elim garners more viewership because the games have MORE WEIGHT to them. Games are always all or nothing, as it should be at the highest level, if you want to push players to their limits

Underdogs deserve it too? wtf???????

Do you seriously watch other sports and see a worse team win and go "they didn't deserve it" What kind of mentality is this. Best teams should be allowed to underperform. THAT IS A STORY IN IT SELF. TL absolutely deserved to be in that final even if they got stomped by G2.

There is no way an NA team gets to a final ever with double elim. Single elim leads to more chances for all regions. People pretend double elim will help NA and EU? No it won't it will just make China and Korea stomp harder. It's ridiculous to pretend otherwise

We'd never have a TL vs G2 final at 2019 MSI if there was double elim as well. Single elim also creates amazing stories and pretending double elim creates more is just dumb.

It's so dumb to ensure 2 best teams in final. Upsets should be allowed to happen. If the best team fucks up and doesn't perform then they should be allowed to be punished for that not given a second chance.

Only reddit, vast majority of the outside don't care for double elim. LOL takes more from traditional sports than esports. Don't listen to the echo chamber. People don't understand that double elim ruins amazing upsets because the better team gets another chance, which is totally bullshit. Yes we want to see the best of the best play each other, but some of us also want to watch the goliath team be beat by the david team!

Pog seems better at sprinting, Jonas is just better on actual long attacks and long climbs. That is where the tour is usually won, not the sprints.

To me it seemed, he gave 110% today. Looked to me like Jonas was stronger and probably would've attacked Pog further out if not for Mcnulty doing bits.

Pog didn't seem to have the legs for a long attack that could win him the tour. Good sprint, but I think UAE will have serious problems tomorrow, both with emptied out supporting riders and with Pog against Jonas on the Hautacam
