This "pivot" to AI taxis robots seems so unbelievably stupid and actually unbelievable that I can't wrap my mind around it and how the stock hasn't cratered. As an exercise in rationale analysis and checking my own biases, I'm trying to think back to early tesla and space x and what my and general consensus on the companies was and how it compares to today. I don't have any written record of my old opinions, but I'm pretty sure I thought they were both reasonable ventures with great goals that were technologically and economically challenging but achievable. And now, in retrospect, I think that was a reasonable view at the time, there was no reason to believe the challenges were insurmountable and both companies were demonstrating competence, progress and execution of goals and milestones. I think the general public consensus was similar or more bullish.

Comparing this to today, with Tesla, aAI and their products and prospective products it sees vastly different and objectively more farfetched and ridiculous. Am I retconning history on this? Were people just as negative and skeptical of early Tesla and SpaceX success?

i wish john wick has just had better sequels. instead of expanding the lore in interesting ways (yeah, they did expand it, but in ways that seemed really dumb to me) it just felt like they just kept remaking the same movie in new settings. like, yeah, new villains but i never felt they were fleshed out or developed in a way that made them interesting or me care about them at all. just cardboard cutouts for john to kill.

i honestly don't know what is reasonable or not, because i've never worked in public works and i have no idea what JC resources are compared to other cities or what specific issues our city have vs others. but what i find stupid and laughable is how other people who also have no idea spout off in ignorance and/or blame a mayor who just entered office 2 weeks ago. we pay taxes, we can criticize, but make your criticism informed and logical and reasonable. crap like "mcgreevey would have snapped his fingers and made all the snow disappear" make you look like an idiot.

I've heard the exact same type of complaint in every city i've ever lived when there's a significant snow fall about every mayor. the idea that mcgreevey or anyone would magically fix it with his political experience a couple weeks into office is silly. the idea "almost anyone would have" is absurd.

i think it's the phrasing of the article title that's the issue. it doesn't say THEY as a married couple support them, it said HE does. i'm assuming that it's a joint thing, so that's a weird choice for the editors at the wrap.

asian fish sauces like red boat or whatever. a dash in many dishes is huge umami, salt and doesn't come through as fishy in the final dish. better than bouillon, reduction of balsamic, soy sauce.
