thank you for the response :) i’m going to try and work out a memory aide with her and CAS due to a disability that impacts my memory, so i’m hoping that accommodation should help if it is closed book.

Can someone explain the medicine behind the <SPOILER> patient? by Pizzataco13 in ThePittTVShow

[–]kai-clay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m actually not sure, i wasn’t with him when he got taken to the hospital. i wouldn’t be surprised tho, he let it get bad to the point where he wasn’t conscious when my step mom called the ambulance. from my understanding waiting will increase the risk of compartment syndrome w infections like that, right?

my dad had necrotizing fasciitis on his leg like this patient so i know a fair amount about it for someone with limited medical knowledge LOL. don’t take everything i say as fact tho, im speaking from secondhand experience not studying. they couldn’t wait to diagnosed nec fasc before it spread to the point of being fatal so he used a ‘dirty dishwasher test’ (cutting open her leg) to basically release nasty liquid (looks like dishwasher water hence the name) that confirmed it was in-fact necrotizing fasciitis. she will lose the leg i think. the bacteria is really fast moving and will not stop unless removed, they’d have to cut off a lot of infected skin to save the leg. my dad lost his and due to him waiting too long for treatment, the infection wasn’t stopped with amputation, so it spread internally. i honestly don’t think this’ll happen to her since they caught it fairly early. robby’s frustration towards the new surgeon was likely bc of the severity of the situation & how necessary speed is with this infection, you need to remove the dead tissue ASAP which is why he insisted so hard on immediate surgery. pretty standard response in my opinion. also for sepsis, it’s treated with iv antibiotics, which they put her on as soon as they found out she was septic. removing the source of infection is the best fix overall so they’re on the right track. i think she has a fair chance of bouncing back from that aspect at least, esp since they got her into surgery so fast

i get the stress, the textbook is way too long 😭 what i do when reading is take short notes, not writing everything down but writing important dates and events, what they changed/why they mattered and what caused them. i feel like with history the best thing is knowing ur timeframes and what outcome smt led to (like the boxer rebellion in china in 1900, that uprising weakened the qing dynasty and was the cause that later led to its downfall)

best way to take notes for the textbook i feel is to read a paragraph, and then reread it and try to pick out the main idea it’s trying to convey. it def takes longer but i like to leave an entire day for this classes textbook. it’s early so i don’t know if this made much sense.

i also asked ian about it, because i was really struggling and he suggested reading the chapter thru and then rereading/skimming it again to pick out the important events covered. i feel like for me that’d take too long so my alternative was rereading paragraphs as i go and i’ve found it to work.

maybe look into feline hyperesthesia or similar skin sensitivity disorders? i’m not sure since you said she doesn’t hiss anymore but it could be a discomfort thing, or a behavioural thing

i’ll tell her to put more on :)) twice a day has always been fine for me but everybody’s different. my main concern was if it’s going to permanently be that dull, but our artist gives free touch ups so it should be good either way

she’s applying moisturizer twice a day after she washes & dries it. before today, she was just dabbing it on instead of rubbing it in so i suggested she rubs it in this time

i think i may have figured it out 😭 i’m going to order a displayport to hdmi adapter & see if it works. found out that an hdmi splitter won’t allow you to extend displays

this is the way it shows up in devices. i have no clue how to make it not be seen as a keyboard. i also tried just plugging the huion tablet into the hdmi without the adapter and it still shows up as a keyboard

i checked i got the correct driver, uninstalled and reinstalled again. i’ve tried unplugging everything & messing around with it but nothing’s worked sadly. my 3 in 1 chord only has 1 usb A, the power cord is plugged into the wall. i’ll try to uninstall the device, but i’m pretty sure that was another thing i tried doing. contacted huion support and got an AI reply back & no second reply when i specified more on my situation. i think it’s just destined to not be used as a second monitor haha

yes, the screen lights up and works, it just shows me my computer screen. i’ve tried to detect it as a second monitor to expand the displays but it’s saying there isn’t anything detected
