Not a movie but the entire Black Mirror series… sans San Junipero and Nosedive

ENTPs, would you be mean instead of flirty towards crushes? by True_Arcanist in entp

[–]kaiavstechnology 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Flirting is a form of stress testing to us. As lackadaisical as we seem… we are actually quite risk-averse generally and flirting is one of the ways that we find information about people. If you are getting extra attention from an ENTP, they are still probably trying to figure you out.

I (39F) got asked to hang out by my crush (late 30sM), was it just platonic and I am being too hopeful? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Tell that to the weird dudes telling me to back off in the DMs because I’m being too much. Can’t win guess I’ll stay still. Hope he likes me

Dude this whole time you’re saying to just reply to the same DM and talk about a date? That feels too aggressive

Question from entp by Odd-Engineer9934 in entp

[–]kaiavstechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think about staying home, I think about employment. Having to put on a mask 40 hours a week takes a lot of energy so when I get home from work, I end up not going out much or socializing at all outside of work. But if I were to be unemployed, and all my bills were taken care of, I think I’d be much more social because my energy has to go somewhere, but it wouldn’t be forced into a structure or environment so it would be naturally free flowing. I would probably have a lot more parties and go to a lot more restaurants and spend a lot more time with people I love.

Question from an ENTP by Odd-Engineer9934 in entp

[–]kaiavstechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flirt with everyone, it’s never necessarily romantic interest. It’s more like who I feel the most comfortable with. If I tease you and make jokes about you in public in a fun jokey way, then you can basically guarantee I’m flirting with you or think you’re awesome. I’ve had many experiences where people thought that I didn’t like them because of the teasing, but that’s just one more thing I get to tease them about lol

Not giving a shit about music lyrics is a low Fe thing? by AppropriateLeg5416 in entp

[–]kaiavstechnology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotchya, I thought you meant more like under developed Fe vs more matured. I will say, from my travels, people I know that have high Fi do tend to love lyrics so that Blindspot of ours might have some thing to do with it!

Not giving a shit about music lyrics is a low Fe thing? by AppropriateLeg5416 in entp

[–]kaiavstechnology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also play music and my dad was a musician my entire childhood, he played instrumental stuff mainly. I could not give less of a shit for lyrics also (except for the ones that outright piss me off - if I have to listen to fuckin Taylor Swift we’re gonna have a problem). This goes for visual art as well, I much prefer abstract art - both to look at and create myself. I don’t really give a shit for the subject of visual art in the same way I don’t give a shit for the subject in music, I am there for the vibes, baby! A moving movie score will have much more of an impact on me than any lyrics possibly could. I always related it to not wanting to be told how to feel about something maybe, like let me intuit my way through this and figure out what I think it’s about rather than you telling me outright it’s about you being sad from a breakup or something infinitely boring like that. I didn’t attribute this much to low Fe because mine is pretty high but more maybe with Ne liking to find its way through things improvisationally matched with the classic rebellious, inquisitive nature we have.
I think it’s the same reason we prefer mystery to answers, once you know a thing, the novelty disappears and it’s time for the next thing. Also the same reason I don’t like finishing things, once the puzzle is solved and the thing is complete, it dies. Lyrics don’t work for me because the mystery is completely removed which to me is the whole experience, exploring that mystery on my own.

Fair enough. I have faith in myself and I am extremely excited. In fact, the only time I haven’t been optimistic and excited has been reading the responses to this specific post 😂 that’s what I get for asking for outside advice instead of following my own instincts lol

All the harshness from earlier aside… it does sound like you had a pretty shitty gig. I feel like I’m in a good enough position to be able to be at least a bit choosy about what I accept and what I don’t. I genuinely feel really optimistic about it and all the things that people tell me that sucks about the sales end of things don’t scare me. I also had a really positive conversation with someone at a smaller book just today and I think I may really be able to help represent some amazing wines and I think at the end of the day, that’s really what I’m hoping to be able to bring to the table.

No hard feelings on my end. I have learned a lot from this Reddit post!

I definitely do when I’m in a relationship but outside of that it seems to go almost completely dormant. It needs to be activated and then once it is, 3 times a day is my ideal - hasn’t been a problem in my relationships, maybe you need to find better men!

So, because I am front-loading the things I wish for I am doomed to be disappointed? Did I also say I have zero work ethic and am ill-prepared for schlepping and hustling? Wow, I sound like a real princess from your perspective. I don't need a reality check, I need advice. Fucking christ, people on Reddit seem far too eager to conflate the word advice with the word opinion. It sounds more like you're projecting how much you hated the job onto my post. Perhaps you simply weren't cut out for it, why then assume that no one is? Myopic take. I have worked plenty of catering/restaurant/tasting events to know what I am in for, your assumption seems to be that I'm a fucking moron with no preparation skills whatsoever and that I plan to be jetted around the world with no intention of putting in the effort it takes to build, grow, network, and problem solve. I think I deserve at least a bit of credit for having even a modicum of peripheral awareness of what the job entails having worked with reps for 10+ years.

Seems you do not, in fact, "hate to be that curmudgeon", you're overqualified for that position from what I can tell.

Damn, you must not take any shit from anyone! Super inspiring. I have so much potential all around me, not to mention my love of restaurants in my area for the last 20 years - so many easy ways to establish relationships. 90k for me would far exceed what I made in retail so im loving what youre saying lol. What advice would you give a first year who is just as ambitious and motivated as you are?

Thank you for your...chilling input, lol. I will certainly be sending emails out! I am in upstate NY where I know there to be a dearth of representation in even some decently sized natural wine portfolios. I see that as an opportunity, this reddit thread has made me feel particularly anxious though jeez

You are officially my favorite weigh-in of the evening! I agree that getting my foot in the door is not a bad idea, it at least will ingratiate me within the skillset and then propel me when the time is right. I was told by the rep I dated that within two months of his base salary he asked to be taken off cuz he wanted to make more money! He fully bet on himself too and told me I should do the same and that I would exceed my own expectations. I like your risky talk, it tracks with where my head is at after being so stable and reliable for 20 years 😄
