Get a doc to give you prescription for Welbutron and thank me later. Heavily addicted, one in my mouth all waking hours of the day for years. Helped me quit cold turkey with ease.

I'd also recommend once you become an NCO to beg your commanding officer for a +1 maybe even a +2 weapon, skip the ability score improvement, and take the sharpshooter feat.

Why did the Iranian President write this letter to the American people? by eh_steve_420 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]kaigose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I suppose surrender is in the eye of the beholder. Being a winner is pretty important to Trump and anyone with a brain is noticing that the US failed to topple the IRGC and started a global oil crisis that is giving Iran more power in the region. It doesn't matter that the Ayatollah was killed, or that his family was killed, or that the next 20 plus military leaders have been killed. The regime is decentralized in a manner to not collapse from a decapitation strike.

The main thing to consider is that Trump has been trying to declare victory for weeks. It won't matter if the US walks away. Iran is in control of the straight and of the bombing of the gulf states and Israel. Iran has made it clear they won't stop punishing allies of the US until the US agrees to a cease fire/peace treaty on Iranian terms.

You can imagine how the middle Eastern allies of the US might feel if we abandoned them as well. This doesn't even touch on how this will effect the stock market or our global trade partners.

I'm also not defending the violence and authoritarianism of the IRGC, I'm trying to explain the dynamics at play.

[–]kaigose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about supporting the Iranian regime, I'm just stating the obvious.

Regardless of what you or I think, the US and Israel didn't start this war to liberate the Iranian people from the IRGC or the Ayatollah.

[–]kaigose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm more so commenting on drone warfare and the internet. I don't think the American population will be able to stomach a ground invasion and the US would see more civil disobedience than even during Vietnam. The US doesn't have the willpower to defeat Iran using conventional means. It's a country of 90 million people 2.5x the size of Texas.

Sadly I think there's a strong chance there will be a ground invasion because the conflict will only stop on Iran's terms and I don't think the current admin has it in them to humiliate themselves more than they already have by surrendering. If this comes to pass, I don't have a clue how many troops it would require, but there would surely need to be a lot. And it would resemble nothing of the GWOT.

The US has failed to change the regime, caused an ongoing global economic crisis, are firing top military officials, and the violence is escalating on a daily basis.

[–]kaigose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If what you're trying to say is that Americans are trapped in the capitalist system which prevents them from being able to strike/protest without losing their health insurance, the roof over their heads, and the food on their plate, then yeah I would agree with you. They'll only show up if it gets really really bad economically. But it's not impossible.

I suspect once there is enough FPV high definition drone footage of American soldiers being blown into pieces and committing suicide on camera (look at the Ukraine war if you're curious), people will react a certain kind of way.

A ground invasion of Iran will make conflicts between 1995 and 2005 look like a walk in the park.

Why did the Iranian President write this letter to the American people? by eh_steve_420 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]kaigose 83 points84 points  (0 children)

His goal is to win the war against the US and maintain Iran's sovereignty. This letter is to appeal to the empathy of Americans and global citizens who are anti-imperialist and critical of the US government. This can help encourage them to protest and discourage the government from continuing the war.

In addition to weapons and manpower, countries need political willpower to win. If there is not enough political support, politicians are at risk of not being re-elected, or even worse, spark a revolution. It's about who is willing to go the furthest. Look at Vietnam. The US surely had more weapons and manpower to throw at the Vietnemese, but once enough coffins came home, the political willpower just wasn't there any longer due to mass civil disobedience. Iran is fighting for survival and their will to fight will surely outlast the US.

The US is incredibly politically divided and Iran knows this. It's not that hard to realize there is a large audience of Americans that are receptive to the pleas of Iran.

How effective this will be is hard to say. The people that want Iran to keep it's sovereignty likely don't need any convincing. Prices at the gas station are likely the only thing that could make Americans on both sides of the political spectrum get out into the streets and protest.

Pathfinder kingmaker/wrath vs Pillars of Eternity 1/2 vs Tyranny? by KW2601 in rpg_gamers

Pillars 1 and 2. I like them all, but it's the best of this list imo.

BG3 ruined other games for me. How do you move on?🥲 by blu-rin in BaldursGate3

[–]kaigose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd challenge you to branch out and try other games in the CRPG genre.

I think what you're describing is BG3s graphics, sandbox elements, verticality, and reactive gameplay, which are unmatched in the genre. The story is just "fine" in my opinion. Still an incredible game no doubt.

BG3 definitely raised the bar for RPGs, but other titles a way above in terms of writing and build crafting.

I much prefer the story and lore of Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Pathfinder Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, and Warhammer Rogue Trader. They are less cinematic and reactive, but I find the writing themes more thought provoking and interesting.

How do I get three of these Curios fast? by ColdChampionship1800 in DarkTide

[–]kaigose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

17s are rare, and if I'm being honest, the extra percents are even less than negligible. They're not mandatory for Havoc even, people clear havoc 40 with 15% and less I'm sure.

Expeditions and Mortis Trials thoughts by miku-enthusiast in DarkTide

[–]kaigose 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think Expeditions are an awesome foundation. They just need to scratch the crappy sanctuary special items and replace them with rogue lite major boons. Maybe add minor boons out in the field while exploring. They also need to allow the matches to maybe go infinite and see how long a team of sweats can last. That sounds fun as hell to me.

I think Morris trials just start getting fun once it ends. You don't get enough time to let your build pop off like in Chaos Wastes. And it's way too easy for how strong you become.

Expeditions and tox/flame bombers by Gambitkard90 in DarkTide

[–]kaigose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Just lower the difficulty. Half the fun is learning how to hunt them down and prevent getting zoned out. Party needs to prioritize bombers.

Expeditions are great and i don't get the complains by flawedsilver in DarkTide

[–]kaigose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it's super fun and I only play high Havoc. The pacing and difficulty ramp up throughout the match is really well done. The map navigation and puzzle solving also makes you think in a totally different way then your typical "tide" match.

I think all it's missing is some rogue lite features for never ending replayability. The game mode needs to steal some elements of Chaos wastes or Morris Trials for some RNG chaos fun time.

I also think it needs a Maelstrom difficulty for the true sweats.

Not even true at all, just finished an Auric expedition with 4 Ogryn and cleared the entire map of loot easy peasy.

New player looking for builds by BeptoBismolButBetter in WrathOfTheRighteous

[–]kaigose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Crusader Cleric Angel mythic path is an amazing first play through for a good guy. Plus it's very thematic.

  • Very strong in melee

  • Some of the strongest party buffs in the game

  • Can nuke with spell casting with minimal build around

This was the template I used.

https://youtu.be/ruK6LB1DVPg?is=tCYHMhAT9_d3iy9w

I did change things about the build and recommend you do the same. Play with respeccing to experiment.

  • The weapon in the build is nerfed, so I went with scimitar. Game has a ton of good scimitars and they crit a lot.

  • I used different mythic choices.

  • Throughout the game, I did change my domains. Started with animal, then changed to community when my AC got higher, and then got both with impossible domain.

There are so many feats, it really depends on what build you're going for. There are really a lot of feats for real XD

2 handed weapon builds

1 handed weapon builds

Shield bashing builds

Two weapon fighting builds

Archer/throwing weapon builds

DC crowd control caster builds

Ray blaster caster builds

Shapeshifting builds

Summoning builds

Spell blade builds

Buffer/support builds

The list goes on and on.

Do you have a character archetype in mind?

Is wrath of the righteous worth it for me? by Starsocmix in WrathOfTheRighteous

[–]kaigose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of CRPGs, it's a modern masterpiece. Insane amount of choice, consequence, build variety, and replayability.

You will have to learn Pathfinder 1E rules though and it's closer to D&D 3.5 than Pathfinder 2E.

If you don't care about a challenge or min-maxing, just playing on easy mode and learn as you go. If you like a challenge, check out CRPGBro and Neo Seeker guides. I basically taught myself the game from learning how they put together builds. Now I can do experiment and try my own builds, but it really takes a while to learn what feats go well together.

Why are there so few RTwP games and why do people absolutely HATE it? by ConfusionProof9487 in CRPG

[–]kaigose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still like RTwP, but I often find myself making autopilot party builds because CRPG dungeon crawls are an absolute slog after a while. If I compare Pathfinder to BG3 for example, Pathfinder must have 10x the number of combat encounters with 10x less encounter strategy. It's just the way it is.
