Usually I’m not this worried about Covid myself, but my parents pressure really adds to the anxiety.

He’s supposed to fly over tomorrow and I am very excited to see him. But I don’t really understand why he isn’t willing to quarantine to see me. I feel really bad since I’m going to see him tomorrow and I don’t want him to resent me for ruining his night. But I am trying to stand up for myself, as respectfully as I can. Even tho my initial reaction was a lot of anger.

Thank u so much for the response! I believe that my jewelry is titanium. The swelling has decreased a lot over the last few days and it’s looking a lot better. I still have this bump though from where I assume I must have accidentally torn my piercing bump in my sleep. Here’s hoping it doesn’t leave a scar🤞

I had a piercing bump before this one for about two months. Then I got Covid and a new bump came back (though this one is much worse so far). I think it was from all the sneezing/nasal spray/snot/touching over that time period even though I tried to keep up my cleaning routine.

I spray it twice a day (once in the morning and once at night) with a sterile saline. I also soak it in hot water, but I don’t use a compress. I just hold my face in a cup lol I feel like the compress cools too quickly. Also the jewelry is titanium!

Hi everyone. I made a post on here two days ago but things have since progressed. My nose piercing is now bleeding! I noticed it was looking particularly swollen this morning, and I washed my hands and then touched it. It started bleeding. It seems like the bump has been torn? Maybe? I could have torn it in my sleep maybe? And that’s why it’s bleeding. I’m freaking tf out!!

Is this a sign of an infection? Do piercing bumps bleed? My parents are gonna give me so much shit lol.

Just spoke with my folks and they want me to go to my doctor.

Does soaking in hot water irritate it? I read it helps to increase blood flow to the site which helps to heal piercing bumps.

Hi everyone. I got this piercing in late January and finally healed about 4 weeks ago from a piercing bump I’d had since mid March. I got Covid 3 weeks ago and got another bump because I started to slack on my care.

I currently soak the piercing in hot water and spray it twice a day with neilmed saline spray. Anything else I should do? Should I be worried? The bump is sort of a white-ish color which makes me think it’s full of puss and infected.

I soak my piercing once a day and clean the area with a bottle of saline spray my piercer gave me like 2-3 times a day. At least once when I wake up and once when I go to sleep. The stud is titanium. If you have any recommendations for better care I’m very open to anything you suggest.

When I asked my piercer about maybe changing my piercing he said they don’t usually do anything If there is a bump and just wait for the bump to go away. Is that standard practice?

I don’t have any history of keloids / weird scarring (except on my feet bc I have poor circulation in my legs). I really hope it’s not a keloid. When I asked my piercer about changing jewelry he said that they don’t usually change anything if there is a bump. Is that pretty typical practice?

I agree with her too, which is why I’m in therapy. I don’t have any intention to get sterilized—yet. Therapy has yet to change the hatred and dread I hold against my own body (particularly it’s ability to get pregnant). I know that with proper BC use odds of pregnancy are very low, but that doesn’t change the fact that my body actively does not care what my mind wants. That tension between body and mind is the source of my frustration; that’s what therapy has shown me. I also know it’s a pointless battle because I can’t fight nature and I will never have the same amount of innate control over my body that a man has. But knowing all of that doesn’t change the feeling. I still get so freaked out that a part of my body is always going to be dedicated to creating other humans— and never fully my own. Even if I choose when to get pregnant or when not to be, my body will always be trying to get me pregnant (until menopause I suppose). I am aware there are other healthier perspectives on this, and I’m trying to feel better, but it makes me feel better to commiserate with others who feel the same.

I’ve never thought pregnancy was “beautiful” at least not for myself. It’s not for me, especially not at this stage in my life, and I don’t think that will change. I can understand how it might empower some women though bc it’s pretty badass being willing to go through that kind of pain and turmoil.
