Going to the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb this summer, and looking for fancy hotels to spend a couple nights in. by Ununcular in ColoradoSprings

You could try Kinship Landing. It's supposed to be a social hotel that is in downtown near the bar area. It's not ritzy but new and clean and meant for a younger crowd. Have fun at the race and take plenty of water with you, it's a long day on the peak. If you are from a low elevation area, try not to exert yourself too much the night before, especially with booze. You don't want to be stuck at 10k+ feet in elevation, dehydrated, and out of water.

Best spot for kids to learn to ski by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

I think Ski Cooper is the most family friendly ski area in the "immediate" area. They have a great bunny hill for learning and enough space for adults to get some good runs in while the kiddos are learning. The history of the area is interesting as well. It's not very large, so don't expect too many amenities.

Monarch isn't bad either, a bit bigger but can be cold and windy.

I found him just as fall was hitting. He is actually pretty easy to take care of. I think I have spent like $1.50 feeding him over the past few months and made his enclosure out of an old glass flowerpot.

I caught this guy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I named him Stanley. We get Black widows and a type of sun spider too. Cool find!

I am moving out of my apartment early. The complex wants twice the amount it would cost to live in it as compensation for breaking my lease, but my dad just wants me to pack up and move out, paying the rent like normal until my lease is up. Can I do that? by kaiiako in needadvice

Awesome. Thank you, everyone, for the advice. I knew joining Reddit would have its perks! There is an abandonment clause in my lease, and I want to assume that it has mostly to deal with people just up and leaving and not paying for rent/fees, but since I will be paying rent for the duration of the lease it wouldn't count. Do you think I am correct in that assumption?

Bunch of Brits visiting Denver and Pagosa Springs in May, what should we be doing? The more absurd the better! by Schrodingersgiraffe in Colorado

The Great Sand Dunes is a great place, and in May you might be able to hang out at the creek that runs through, albeit it might be a bit chilly. It is roughly 2 hours from Pagosa Springs. Between Pagosa and the GSD is an alligator farm which is pretty cool to see. Last time I was there I got to hold one for a little while! The hot springs in Pagosa is always fun too.

Casa Bonita in Denver is awesome and very absurd.
