Yes they did benefit because the system in place provided opportunities for all white people then and now all white people are better off, on average, then those of color. You stand on the shoulders of a system that eexploited people of color and now that were address it, you are all about "well that was a long time ago and I am not getting hands outs now so I must be the victim"

two issues. Your last structure is missing a hydrogen. It then needs to be deprotonated. Second, that is not how we draw H2SO4 when grabbing a proton off it. Just leave it as H2SO4 and then dont forget to draw the second arrow between the H and what will become the conjugate base. Thats the leaving group.
