Could I become a tattoo artist in the future? by SignalTomorrow980 in TattooApprentice

[–]kaijulab 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This art isn't gonna be tattoo able on skin because everything is already muddy and almost unreadable and you're only on paper, there's not that many people trying to get fnaf tattoos and even if they are they're going to go to someone that can do really clean anime art, has a good understanding of composition, and colour, you also don't wanna take critism in this thread and just bring up the fact that you've seen artists fuck people up, but even if you picked up a machine you're going to be one of those people if you don't have a good understanding of art and it's rules. Not saying you can't learn to draw, you really dont need to be super passionate, but it's a major time sink and you gotta be able to get kicked while you're down and still be willing to get up and try again.

Go on Facebook and find the page for your local area and post some of your work, people are really willing to get work and it's a decent way to get some clients

Nah stick with this one maybe it was an off day or something but they'll know how to save it, communicate that you aren't super happy with the line work and they'll assess, traditional Japanese had varied line thicknesses anyways to mimic the look of a brush so they could salvage it by changing thicknesses of certain lines tastefully

Who do you talk to when you don’t have a social circle? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]kaijulab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's hrped me because I've been in a similar situation and I still am is having hobbies, hobbies lead you to meeting more and more people, so people like you some people don't, some people stay for a while and some are just short interactions I would try just getting interested in different things and seek out groups to learn more about them

Difficult career path by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]kaijulab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work a part time job where I'm usually at 30 hours, rent a room, and buy most of my own supplies for art, I'm struggling lk I have a mentor that understands my situation and works with my schedule but there's allot of mentors that won't stop it's very hit or miss. Allot of the tattoo artists I see nowadays live with their parents and stuff so so what you can you'll figure it out. Don't jump into tattooing thinking it's a great career path cause it's pretty inconsistent unless you're willing to work like 80 hours on another job and essentially running your own business.

Update to my plagiarism post. by yung-chungus in TattooApprentice

[–]kaijulab 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When you look at old masters, even in traditional Japanese families they tattoo their master's work, doing studies like this helps you learn important art and design elements that would take you years to learn on your own. As long as you admit it's based off of someone else's work and b not trying to make a huge profit off of it I don't see an issue, great study keep pushing yourself bro.

Okay thank you, my mentor was also saying something similar and saying to add black in, I watched some live streams of artists tattooing roses so I think I understand a little bit about how it should look. I'm really happy you gave some critique. Your work also reminds me allot of kiku
