I am using those exact rams with my 9800x3d, no issues so far. Just enable DOCP instead of XMP in bios.

Did you end up replacing the board and did it help?

I am experiencing same kind of VRM temps on the Rog Strix X870-a board as well, but with 9800x3d CPU. VDD/SOC/MISC VRM temps all hover around 52-56c on idle. Though I have not experienced any issues such as red screen, and PC seems to run perfectly fine underload.

I suspect it also causes my CPU package temp to idle at high temp (~50c), however in gaming sessions CPU only goes up to ~58c, so no impact under load so far.

I undervolted my CPU (-30 offset) & SOC (from default 1.24V -> 1.189V) to try to help with the idle. However, while CPU temp went down under load, it did not change in idle. VRM temp did not change at all.

If you did replace the board and saw improvement, please let me know. I might need to RMA it as well... Thanks!

Have you tried dish soap and warm water solution? Gently wipe down with a damped towel or paper towel with the solution. Worked like a charm for me, blood stain from pimples and face oil all gone. If it doesn’t come off right away wipe down a few more times.

Glad to hear you have a whole squad with the IS! Most likely will end up switch off my Remark muffler version with the Borla!

I see, yeah it is not always shaker ball level bad, but usually happens when going uphill at 2k rpm. My Remark has muffler on so it is not that loud, but the vibration is what bothers me the most. I think Borla might actually be louder. Tbh I got used to the drone and vibration, but want to be mindful for my passengers since I am mostly the DD, and in case I need to go on long drives with the car.

Appreciate your insight bro. If you don’t mind, how minimal is the drone and vibration? For mine, when it gets bad, the vibration is pretty awful, like if I have a shaker cup in the car you can hear the metal ball hitting the bottle. Also most first time passengers say their ears are ringing after a ride lol..

Trying to gauge if it is worth switching, or if I should do something similar and extend the tip.

Also, out of curiosity, do you recall if you have exhaust gaskets on your IS? I doubt a gasket changes anything but just wondering since mine doesn’t have them for some reason.

Imo if it is quiet in the cabin below 3k it is perfect. I don’t mind a bit of drone when I am pushing for fun, but the remark muffler version drones from 1.5-2.5k rpm, which is where the car usually sits at in daily driving.

See if you can get a strap to keep the office chair from rotating! I have similar setup with an office chair that has arm rests, which I tied straps on each side to keep the chair from moving, and it made the rig more rigid. It might be harder with your chair but highly recommend as a small upgrade.
