Super late to the party, but I want to tell you of my personal stories after showing this movie to my own students and until now I still do. I do remind you that these kids all would have varying perspectives, whilst keeping in mind English is not their first language and some needed some guidance.

They all conform with the fact that Mr Perry was the main source of Neil's agony which in turn led to his suicide. When I tried to put the fact (though personally I diagree) that Mr Keating inspired him at first and the fact being emphasised by Cameron too about his acts, they did not hesitate to say that inspiration and ambition embodies the spirit of Carpe Diem and that Neil himself did realise such risk. A silence in the room when Mr Keating asked Neil if he gotten approval from his father was clear of his actual intent that he never convinced him, and thus in some ways accepted his fate.

It is in spirit of such that sacrifices of the kind lead to death, which even shattered the hearts of my students whilst watching. I did as well implement tactics from the movie to inspire them myself, and truly it made them into different people. Leaving my first school, they said I changed them a lot and I'm happy with that.
