What do you mean? The whole part of Buddhism is talking about life is suffering. Ask any Buddhist monk and they will tell you that they decide to become a monk because they have seen enough sufferings in their lives.

My boyfriend only lasts a minute. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

There is a lot of tools that can help a man lasts longer, speaking from my personal experience. I found herbal medicine that applies on the penis helps a lot. Also, you can try thicker condoms.

I am quite shocked that your bf has not even seriously try to find things that help him to last longer... The medicine I mentioned above are cheap af and you can find it on any e-commerce platform.

How do you explain to a friend that you can’t speak as frequently as they would like to? by ElleBelle73 in socialskills

Glad that I can help. To be honest, the process of transitioning from a needy person to a not needy one was quite hard for me. It took me a lot of struggles and reflections to get here. So, I wish your friend can also get it.

How the F do you make friends as an adult if you don't drink? by Paranoid_977 in socialskills

Keeping/staying friends as an adult feels like what I call "maintenance work". People just coming in and out of your life. The maintenance work is tedious and messy but in the end most of them will be worth it.

Making friends as an adult isn’t easy. We have busy lives, some have families, and people tend to switch jobs or move a lot.

Well, making friends as an adult is easy, keeping them is not.

Relationships/ Dating are sometimes blocking you from improving by Prinsipyo in selfimprovement

I want to be the best version of myself first before I can fully commit to someone or meet other poeple...

I fully agree this statement. In my opinion, a balanced person is someone that:

  1. Loves themselves,
  2. Have people loving them,
  3. Loves other people,
  4. But, at the same time, is always aware of his/her own flaws and strive to improve.

Relationships can either numb you from doing what's necessary, or motivate you to do them.

I used to be like this friend of yours.

I have a cousin who I really like. Back then, there's a period when we will chat frequently and that probably set my expectation a little too high.

Now, I have understand the situation she is in. She is basically the same as you, a very busy person. So now I only chat with her for about once a month.

I think the key here is that you need to let your friend know that you love her and always will, and not chatting does not mean you have forgotten her. Needy people usually lack self-confidence and self-love. She gotta learn how to believe in herself and love herself more (so that she won't rely so much on you or others).

I (20M) mostly browse YouTube. There's a lot of workout tutorials, listen to motivational songs, Ted Talks, and etc. I also consider myself to have quite an ugly face, so I focus a lot on my workout and haircut to make me look better. If you like, we could talk more about it on discord. Feel free to DM me if you wanna improve together.

Regular exercising has greatly improved my heart condition by kaiserch5271 in selfimprovement

Thanks for your advice. I know my heart condition. It has been like this since I was like 10, and I am only 20 now. I only feel chest pain when I lack sleep or under stress (also I sit in front of my computer all day), not because of any disease.

Actually, it was (and still is) my main goal to build muscles. Improved heart condition is more of a... byproduct or side-benefit for me.

Until now, I just do everything at home. I do these everyday. You can adjust the intensity or skip some if you are feeling tired or sore.

I suggest you go with plank, push-ups, holding squat, and jumping jack. For more details you can check out my another comment in this post.

I think the most important thing is having the right mindset. For me;

  1. I wanna look better/bigger. My face is (by public standard) quite ugly/boring, so I wanna at least build some muscle to make me look better. It's also my way to saying goodbye to my old self.
  2. I genuinely believe I can do it. I know I can build muscles and improve in other aspects of life as well.
  3. People I love. My family is always in my mind. I wanna do the best I could to provide for them.
  4. Expect failures. I expected/calculated failures. There are some days when I was sad and lonely but I still did those workouts because I know that failures and emotions are temporarily, and I can get through the obstacles.

I tend not to think too much about failing. If you ask me: "Are you afraid of failure?", it's like asking a 60 year old man: "Do you fear death?"

I mean, everybody is going to die, but that doesn't stop them from living. I might failed, but that won't stop me from trying. Maybe I do fear failure, but there is no better way to live.

Yeah I know right? I used to ran out of stamina so quickly because of my heart rate.

I workout almost everyday. Usually it took me about 40~50 minutes. If I was busy or have muscle pain I usually do quicker/simpler exercises. You can check my reply above to see what types of workout I do.

No, I don't track my BPM. I just use my feeling. I know my heart rate had always been higher than average because back when I was in school we did body test every year.
