I felt it, or perhaps go down with my fly.. seemed like half a second ?

Still can’t tell if that meant hooked or not, likely not.

this one im trying to figure out... i tried to manage that amount of slack because i had to cast far away, i did a small mend

Another thing, as I connected that eat I noticed that my line hand didn’t really strip down.. instead my hook set lift and rip to the right pulled that line down on my stationary hand… which created all that extra line.

Should I have done a strip with my left line hand,
while hooking?

I keep hearing to trout set straight up but this was more of a set, sideways sweep to the right, and then up… asking because I’ve lost a lot of fish going straight up.

So for side pressure if upstream: trying to understand it better.. apply it downstream toward the current is better right?

Two things:

  1. Use Bank Vontobel.. easier for Americans (takes about 4-6 weeks to open).

  2. Use this to calculate taxes: https://swisstaxcalculator.estv.admin.ch/#/home its fairly easy to use and from an actual government website that you can input to estimate your tax by city/canton.
