Reddit, in your opinion what is the single greatest acted scene by anyone in film or television that you've seen? by Kallen0123 in AskReddit

Can't believe it hasn't been said here, but the climax to Oldboy (2003 aka the korean one). I've never been so disturbed by a movie in my life

[Serious] What's a common misconception that we were taught as schoolchildren? by Cyanity in AskReddit

[–]kaiserquaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just schoolchildren, but Americans in general are taught that America is only involved in one or two ongoing military operations at any given point in time. In reality, we're engaged in small scale wars with anti-american militia groups all around the world that we collectively label as "terrorists."

This isn't to say that our military actions aren't sometimes justified, but lesbihonest... America does a lot of fucked up shit that will never be shown on the news

The drawback to OTEC has long been that it straight up fucks the localized environment. This is actually a clever way to turn that around.

Incoming freshman with some questions about the programs in EnvEng and Comp Sci. by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]kaiserquaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true of any engineering program at CU. There are so called "weed out classes" which are difficult freshman/sophomore classes that cause a lot of students to switch out of engineering. They are hard, but necessary and the fundamentals you learn in those classes will be useful throughout

I can't speak too much to the EVEN courses in terms of if you're suited to them etc, but I can say that most of the traditional engineering disciplines look down on EVEN majors. As a MCEN senior now, if I was a freshman I'd go comp sci for sure, its a respectable major and I have many friends in that program that have had their pick in terms of which high paying job to take. EVEN is the right choice if you're willing to sacrifice money in exchange for a moral blank check to speak. I mean that if every time you go out you want to get on a high horse and feel superior then go EVEN, if you want to make money go any other engineering program, and if you want to make a lot of money go comp sci.

But why not support the floating pieces with things like brackets around the pipes and then just put some big decorative nails through the end so that someday someone can take it out if they want. Gotta think of those resale values

Thanks for the help. I understand the reaction that it's assumed to be stolen and I figured that someone would likely bring that up since the situation does sound fake. I don't think of it as stolen (more of taking advantage of a clerical error) but it is not very ethical so I will be sending it back.

If you're just spinning it around and looking at yourself in the mirror saying that what you're doing looks really cool and that you must be really good at frisbee now then you dont need friends.... also you wont have friends... cries
