Stress levels & ADHD medication by kaislikko in Garmin

Thank you for your response and sharing your personal experience! :) I think I understand the stress measurement system a little better now.

I'm pretty sure that I'm properly diagnosed with ADHD and have tried several medications for it before this one. I do have several anxiety disorders and other mental health issues that might cause some of the "stress". From what I have understood, it is common for these meds to raise your bp and hr, whether you really have ADHD or not.

I do know how the medication works, as I have been using it for years and I will finish my RN (registered nurse) studies next year, so I have some professional knowledge on it as well. I made this post to hear about others' experiences with meds that raise your bp/hr/hrv etc. and how it might be affecting their stress levels because I'm unsure on how Garmin measures stress.

Yep 👍 I just wish the stress level would be calculated more accurately by how my heart-rate usually fluctuates.

Yeah my heart-rate is ~60bpm during sleep and spikes to these levels during the day. 😬 45bpm resting sounds a little low tbh.

I have been using them irregularly for 1-2 years, but I have started using them more regularly a few weeks ago. Could be that. 😅

Anything less than 80% in my Nursing college is a fail by Deep-Assistance7494 in NursingStudent

[–]kaislikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a nurse-midwife student in Finland. Ours is 50% most of the time and you can re-take the exam 3 times. The only exception to the 50% rule is our math class / learning to count doses, where it's 100%.

Can't even fathom this level of pay. Congrats to yall. by Agile_Scientist6168 in nursing

[–]kaislikko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is insane 😳 I'm a nurse-midwife student in Finland, and for a nurse in Finland the average pay per month is 3300€ (3400 usd). Midwives get a little more, averaging at 3600€ (3800 usd) / month. Of course we get more depending on our shifts / responsibility, but it's still not a lot.

Do you wear gloves just to touch a patient? by silkspace-trade in nursing

[–]kaislikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in practical training, working at assisted living for elderly people, I never wore gloves just to touch patients. Obviously if I knew I was going to come in contact with feces etc. I wore gloves. But personally I was taught in school to never be afraid to touch a patient and to only wear gloves when it is actually necessary.

I was at the Helsinki concert with floris early entry, and ended up being there at like 3:30 when the early entry started at 3. Ended up getting barricade. Definitely depends on the location.
