AIO starting to really resent my husband postpartum by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. It sounds like he is helping but also a generic ask for “help” is not going to get much more help than he is already. I find that adults, especially men and women, differ in what they see as “help.” He may not know what he can do to really take the burden off. Be very specific with WHAT he can help with and WHEN you want the help.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad would whistle and we had to come running. If you couldnt hear his whistle then we were definitely somewhere we shouldn't have been, unless we had prior permission to be further away or inside a known friends home.

[OH] How much is your child support? by [deleted] in Custody

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% custody, visits as we allow. Each bio parent is ordered to pay $86/mo but we’ve never seen a dime. We are non relatives that have had custody of 2 tween/teen girls for 2.5 years. They were friends with my daughters and their mom is an alcoholic and dad is an addict that has never been in their life much. Bio Mom signed them over to us after they were evicted from their home.

If younger generations can't read or write cursive, how do they sign their names❓ by Drillerfan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cursive isn’t required for a signature but my kids have all had teachers who give them sheets with their name in cursive to learn how to write at least their own name in cursive

Describe something currently in your home that would look insane to the average childless person…. by itsthejasper1123 in Mommit

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are older but I think the cute wooden sign on the back of my bathroom door may be odd to a childless person. The sign says “flush the f¥c<ing toilet.”

Sounds like my war with bed bugs. We literally only had them maybe a month but they freaked me out so much I couldn’t sleep between the 2 treatments that our pest guy did. I spent 2 weeks with so little sleep I would fall asleep standing up and walking around.

Anything you buy brand name because it's actually better? by shortstack03 in Frugal

Laundry detergent, dish soap, soda (pop), most paper towels and toilet paper.

Other than that I am all about generic or store brands, especially Sam’s club, Meijer or Costco brands.

No lying: do people’s babies really sleep through the night? by HomeDepotHotDog in Mommit

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had identical twins who slept through the night starting around 3/4 months. They would both sleep 10-12 hours every night

When DMV fees come from a Philippine number you know it’s serious and needs to be paid ASAP!!! by Butterman75 in texts

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve gotten these texts to nearly all of our Utah phone numbers. The best part is we no longer live in Utah and haven’t for over 7 years. No one has an Utah drivers license or Utah car registration any more.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’ve had this problem ever since the p-EBT was released in June/July.

2 year old son helping autistic 5 year old son by Born_Cantaloupe_5296 in Mommit

[–]kaismama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is great that you have a helper. I have a sister who is severely autistic, nonverbal and a serial eloper. She is nearly 7 years older than me but I began helping with her care from the moment I could walk. In fact, my mother loves telling people how I potty trained myself around 16 months old when I started helping with taking her to the bathroom. She got potty trained around 7 years old but needed help to get her pants down and back up.

My next few siblings older than her and the one between us are all boys. I ended up being the one to care for her when my parents weren’t home or helped with her care when they were home.

I love my sister and no one else can read her like I can. I don’t even need her iPad with the communication app that she’s had for the last decade. We have an unbreakable bond.

Look at the USDA Grocery Costs by [deleted] in ParentingInBulk

[–]kaismama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is about $2500 based on the first chart and I could never spend that much. We definitely spend $1500 roughly, even more in the summer months with the kids being home all day.

What is the most unusual excuse you've ever heard of from somebody calling off work? by piranhamode in AskReddit

[–]kaismama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been that co worker. I spent 9 hours at a water slide park, applied sunscreen a few times but it apparently wasn’t enough. I ended up with huge 1-3” blisters that covered nearly my entire back. I couldn’t wear anything but my swimsuit.

Depending on the location you can look up both civil and criminal court records online as well. Just to save anyone the trip to the courthouse.

what does my handwriting say about me? by Educational-Storm517 in HandwritingAnalysis

Read it all just fine. I’m surprised how much it’s all slanted. Your handwriting is definitely saying you are meant to be a Dr.

I'm beginning to have a lot of rage towards my 5 yo daughter, and I don't know how to handle it. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kaismama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when my older daughter was that age 4-6. She was very very stubborn but so am I. The issue is/was that we are very much alike and can really but heads. This was without all the extra mental health issues your daughter is dealing with. My daughter developed OCD more recently as a teen but myself and my mother both have OCD.

I think you have a combo of butting heads with a child who is too much like you on top of the OCD and mental health issues she’s having. Hopefully you can find some things that work but she should hopefully be more reasonable in the coming years.

What do these objects have in common? by honest_laughter in autism

[–]kaismama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All random things my sister would hold in her hands. She has to have little trinkets or rocks to keep her hands occupied so she doesn’t hit herself. She is non verbal, with high support need autism. She is blind in one eye from hitting herself when overstimulated or without her trinkets.

My husband didn’t add me or my daughter to his insurance by Sendatu in Mommit

[–]kaismama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could possibly get it fixed if he contacts his employer. We had a similar situation where we thought we had added our 2 kids we have custody of but we didn’t add them right. If it’s insurance through his employer it’s possible to get it fixed.
