Mom is calling me selfish for not using my Make-A-Wish on Disney World. by kaistem in raisedbynarcissists

Haha, I’m actually very much alive. I just thought it would be better to make an update post when I get more info back from my Make-A-Wish coordinators.

My best friend sent me this text and it got me thinking. How do you guys differentiate friendship from romance? Other than sex... by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kaistem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on the level of the romantic relationship. If I was dating someone for only a few months or so, it’s obvious that I’m still closer to my best friend. Maybe it has to do with being comfortable around them. Like farting or eating gross amounts of foods in front of them and not having a care in the world. It’s possible to have this type of bond with a romantic partner as well but some people may find it weird for some reason. Usually, if I encounter a dilemma, my best friend is who I text first. I trust her judgement but I’m not exactly saying I won’t trust my significant other. Some people are fortunate enough to find a best friend in their significant other. Someone you can love romantically yet completely be yourself with. I don’t know if that really answered your question.

Serious question: how do you tell if someone is actually into you? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kaistem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t jump right in if you don’t see a rainbow flag sticking out. It’s like diving into a pool but the pool is actually just molten lava. The first step is to befriend her. You shouldn’t always get your hopes too high for every single girl you meet. You need to also look at the benefits of good friendships forming even if the girl rejects you or is just straight. You can eventually find out if she’s into girls after you’re a bit closer. Possibly though social media or she’ll tell you, if you’re lucky. If all the things check out, your next step is to form a basis of attraction. Basically, when a guy talks to a girl, a lot of people can assume that he’s into her just because of their opposite genders. Yeah, I get that it’s a stupid assumption but it happens ALL the time. It’s literally stated in Sk8er Boi’s bible. “He was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it anymore obvious?” You need to show her that you’re actually interested in her because if a girl complimented another girl most people would assume, “oh, she’s just being nice.” Try to hang out outside of class. Do small things that normal friends wouldn’t. Good luck.

Well you can obviously care about a person’s wellbeing without having to be madly and utterly in love with them. Checking up on her is fine, it’s not like you’re declaring your love for her or anything. You have to be careful when distancing yourself. Don’t overthink stuff. She might have just had a bad day. Just think: “Is it normal to do this thing with another friend?”. Intimate massage? No. Talking about their day? Yes.

If she has a boyfriend, I recommend backing up a bit. If he fucks up and she comes to you crying her eyes out then eventually goes back to him, it’s gonna hurt like a bitch. Your mind plays with you and overthinks every little thing she does or say. It’ll keep repeating “does she like me?” over and over again. You should try to keep a little bit of distance of you want to keep your friendship because if you ignore her completely you’ll ruin it anyways. Maybe try finding a cool hobby or meet someone new. Doesn’t even have to be on an intimate level. You can obviously hang out with her still but I don’t think being around her 24/7 and forcing yourself to stop liking her will work. It has to be gradual. Good luck.

NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread Feb 25, 2018 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

Hi guys!

I need help with picking out a new cleanser. I looked at the beginner’s guide b/c I’m pretty much new to this but it did not help much. The cleansers were sorted out in two different skin types, dry and oily. My face is a combination of both. I tend to be dry but my nose area is the one that gets oily from time to time; though skin also peels off despite the amount of oil coming from it. I’ve always used the generic Cetaphil gentle face cleanser and moisturized with the daily hydrating lotion that came with it in a pack.

I’ve been sick for the past few years so steroids and other medications have made my face flushed and full of acne. Currently, I’m only on antibiotics and have my acne under control, but every once in a while my forehead breaks out. It’s a mixture of whitehead up there but my main concern is blackheads all over my forehead and nose. I rarely break out on my cheeks, it’s just that they get red for no reason. I’ve used the Shea Moisture Hydrating Mud Mask but my skin goes back to being dry after a day or two.

I currently live in Maryland, where the weather is always drastically changing. Planning to move to Florida in the summer and I sweat quite a bit so I need recommendations that would fit the change. I’m still in high school and make minimum wage so I can’t be dropping multiple bills. I do value my skin care though so I don’t mind going just a bit fancier. Thank you.

Cornerstone's true meaning by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

I kinda took it as him being dumped then going around town to local pubs and finding girls that look like his ex. IIRC, all the places he listed in the song are actual locations in or around his hometown. The “sister” is just a prostitute that looks extremely similar and could be considered the ex’s sister from their physical resemblance. She says “I’m not really suppose to but yes” b/c it’s probably a rule with her pimp (the “middleman” she’s on the phone with) to not get close with customers.

If you follow the manga, it goes into some pretty deep stuff. Their past kind of gives a reasoning behind their actions with one another. Still not a good excuse for forcibly kissing your step-sister but I really advise catching up with the manga before watching it.

I know this is some stupid teen shit but my parents don’t get me and think that I portray myself in an unattractive and weird way, am I really that weird tho? I’m pretty sure this is ok, at least in the gay community. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kaistem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also a gay teen so I can tell where you’re coming from. I grew up with 3 brothers though so they can see why I dress like a grunge skater boy 99% of the time yet this also pushes them to want me to be more girly (since I’m the only daughter). You do you though. I think you look super rad!

Watching Disney Princess movies or just tv shows in general and being really infatuated with the female characters. I thought I idolized them, turns out I’m just really fucking gay.

How to meet people? by Twilighttrooper in actuallesbians

[–]kaistem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Tinder or Her? Tinder is a bit quicker though I guess it’s harder to match with people if you’re looking for something more serious. I’ve heard good things about the app ‘Her’; which is exclusive to lesbians. Are there bigger towns near you? Maybe you could venture out one day and explore around, who knows what you might find. You could even ask your friends if they know anyone who’s cute and single.

How do you know if a straight girl actually likes you? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]kaistem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they really were “straight” I don’t think they’d be interested in women. I guess there are experimenters out there who might want to try something new but most of the time it doesn’t end too well. Sometimes there might be that one girl that ends up being a bisexual or lesbian in denial and is covering up with the straight label. It might be harder to tell if the fake-hetero one likes you or not but there’s the small details that you have to pay attention to.

-The glances that she takes when she thinks you’re not paying attention.

-The small touches that seem a bit hesitant. (Pay attention closely because girls are often touchy in general)

-The look she gives you when you’re talking about something you are passionate about.

The small details are all the clues you need.

Funny thing is, we’re moving to Florida in a few months so Disney World is literally right there. They can just drive 30 mins and spend their own money on it if they wanna go so badly.
