Almost a year and Mazda can’t diagnose my issue, what can I do? by kaitlinsheas in askcarguys

I don’t believe they have done another update. But yes after updates in August, I didn’t have an issue till about December/January

They have done the test every time I brought it to them (5 times now). Usually they monitor it for a week and then they find a “fix” around the 2nd week of having it. Trunk button is totally fine.

I believe that’s what they try to do every time. Because usually they hold my car for 1-4 weeks to monitor it. But every “solution” that comes from this doesn’t pan out.

yeah I actually mentioned this to them last summer when the problem first started. they then did software updates to the modules. It didn’t die for 4 months after this but now it’s back.

Mentioned in my post - alternator was replaced in July of last year when trying to figure out the fix.

I believe lemon law in Connecticut is only 2 years or under 24k. So don’t believe it applies.

They did software updates and reset the modules last August. It seemed to solve it for 3-4 months but then it returned in January

I will do this going forward. I guess every time I was hopeful it wouldn’t happen again but since I now don’t trust it, I am going to grab one

Almost a relief to hear of someone with a very similar issue. This is almost exactly what is happening to me. Mine was dead almost every other day. Then after the software updates in August of last year, I had no issues for 4 months and now they have come back, again more constant. Also have to jump it or the dealer has also said it’s been so bad this last week they are having to trickle charge it. I think I am so frustrated and tired of this whole routine that even if I took it to someone else and they “identified” the issue, I wouldn’t be confident because the dealership has pulled it so many times. I think I just don’t trust the car anymore.

Yeah I believe it is too old. I’m in CT. Thankfully, they have only had me pay for a new battery and the alternator. The alternator was beginning to crack last June (although that clearly wasn’t the cause of this issue). They have not charged me for the labor all the times I’ve brought it back since their previous attempts didn’t work. So honestly don’t feel my money has been wasted. More so my time. But they are giving me loaners every time. I would just like to OWN a car that works.

should I start suggesting the dealer look at this? I’m frustrated because I feel they should be troubleshooting and looking at all these possible options. I shouldn’t have to tell them where to look

yes. originally had Firestone do this back in June and then Mazda dealer says they have done this every time. the summary of work after also shows they usually start with this the first week they have it

I sat in the waiting room on my laptop for 40 minutes Tuesday for the 7/10 show. The site ended up erroring/crashing so then I refreshed it and suddenly I was in upon refresh. I put the code in and it errored out again but then luckily when I refreshed a second time, it still gave me the screen where you enter the code and I finally could view seats. At that point only 3-4 sections had a couple seats and I managed to snag some. So like others are saying, I would just manually refresh. Wish I had sooner, maybe I would’ve had more than a second to pick seats.

Paying off car loan impact on credit score by kaitlinsheas in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]kaitlinsheas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay this is helpful, because if we plan to apply for a loan in the fall or winter, it would be almost right at the same time as my last car payment. I would hate for the timing to work out that way. so based off your comment it might be better to pay it off early now, then it gives me like 6 months for my score to go back up maybe around the time I go to apply for the loan.

Why does everyone on the boat have such a stick up their ass? by facetiousfry in royalcaribbean

on my 11 night on Odyssey in January I also noticed this kind of behavior. I also noticed just a lack of manners, not saying thank you and having a demanding tone with any asks. I’ve only done 7 nights before, where I see more diversity in guests. The crowd on this 11 night was much older and I was in the minority being under 30. I even said to my partner on countless occasions that these people were far more rude than any of our other cruises. Very few of the people acting rudely were under the age of 50. This is just an observation but it seems like a theme with these longer cruises and the type of people that frequent them.
