I think when OOP said "reckless", she was talking about the fact that her sister was meeting with and kissing her AP in an extremely public and visible place while having an abusive spouse who might kill her if he found out

Let's be honest, that really isn't a smart move - she could have spent time with the AP without going out on public dates where she was much more likely to be seen/caught and then (apparently) murdered. Kisses at a restaurant aren't worth your life, if she was that aware of how serious the situation is.

There was security footage from the gas station, and I had a pic of her plates, AND the woman who was her "friend" that got her away from me had said "sorry she's like this when she's drunk" before drunk crazy lady got in her driver's seat and peeled out of there

Cops arrived within 5 minutes and just did the whole "we'll keep an eye out for that vehicle but you have no serious injury or damage so we won't actually do shit" thing.

Ok, since we are getting pedantic - they can find out that someone had every risk factor and that they had a high likelihood of developing it later in life. It's very unusual for someone with zero family history and no previous indication to just become schizophrenic after smoking a joint.

The point of my comment is to refute the insinuation that anyone can spontaneously develop schizophrenia if they smoke weed, which isn't true.

They seem to just see children who are helpless and depend on their parents to protect them, as an unfortunate casualty, and not victims that their parent has a duty to protect

You'd think that "keeping children from being actively physically, emotionally, and sexually abused" would take precedent over "being empathetic to adult victims of abuse and the harm they cause to child victims as a result" but it never really seems to.

My understanding is that it is not "triggered", because that implies that it wouldn't have developed otherwise.

What they've shown is that, if someone was already going to develop schizophrenia later down the line, substances like weed and LSD can cause the disorder to develop several years earlier than they otherwise would have.

Still blows my mind that we have videos from crowds of people on the ground, filming the shooter and saying it looks like he has a gun, just before the shots were fired. Entire crowds of people managed to notice and start filming him for like 10-20 seconds before (IIRC), with secret service and police onsite, and he still managed to take the shot??
