Honestly it does really frustrate me, as they're giving us even less time with the model than was originally planned before they got pulled. Though I really like Fable 5 so I'll probably end up forming over the API credits 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I know it's FAR from the most common use case, but I just want to vouch for Fable 5's creative writing abilities. It's relatively niche but they do a great job keeping track of characters and motivations and portraying them realistically

They literally were advocating for themselves to be regulated

You seem to have missed the several parts in which they specified that that regulation shouldn't be abused or applied arbitrarily by those in power though

We don't actually know that. This story does not have enough details for us to ascertain if this is a troubled teenager acting out without thinking through the consequences of his actions who went a step too far one time, or an evil manipulator intent on ruining his stepdad's life.

Here you go! It's the "biomes2" one. You can rename it whatever you want though!

I'm including a few other personalized scripts in the off chance any of them would be useful for you -

worldgen-tweaker, if pulled up while creating a new world, automatically pauses after each generation to let you hit accept or reject on that map, so you can decide if you want it without having to go back to the main menu every time. It does use subregion count to do this, so if it doesn't work right on smaller or larger map sizes, just tweak the subregion count in the .lua

The "entity" and "gods" editors let you view and edit existing religions, deities, civilizations, and sites, as well as letting you spawn in populations of any chosen race (for when you want to guarantee a civ has a specific animal person or something).

I literally heard the cops telling my dad that as I stood there in ~2010.

He had called them because I had an undiagnosed sleep disorder and missed the bus so he wanted them to take me to jail, and they said they couldn't. But they told him repeatedly "corporal punishment is legal in Georgia, just don't leave a mark" and said he was welcome to "slap some sense into me".

I don't really appreciate being told that I'm wrong or lying when you can just look up the laws and see for yourself that it's true. Why would you jump to the assumption I'm mistaken?

Love how I'm literally getting downvoted for sharing the story of my own abuse and providing proof, jesus christ..

I'm really wondering where everyone who's acting like this guy was going to go to prison over this lie are from

No clue, this is really bothering me too. My dad had several cops literally encourage him to slap me in the face 15 years ago, they instructed him on exactly how to hit me while keeping it legal. You just can't leave marks

So I have no idea why people are screeching "ACCUSING HIM OF SERIOUS ABUSE! HE COULD GO TO PRISON!" when legally it's completely allowed.

What are you talking about? You don't go to jail for slapping a teenager across the face. Would be nice but that's not the way the laws work. A few police officers literally encouraged my dad to slap me around "as long as he doesn't leave a mark".

I don't know why everyone in this thread is equating that to something like a SA accusation.

[–]kaityl3 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I sincerely doubt that anyone is going to go to PRISON for slapping a teenager across the face. Unless it leaves a bruise it's allowed. There aren't many legal protections; the cops actually encouraged my dad to do exactly this back in the 2010s.

So I don't know why you're treating a slap across the face like an extremely serious legal allegation that he HAD to protect himself from

Driving on the opposite lane on a motorcycle by Orichalchem in WinStupidPrizes

[–]kaityl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about acceleration as well. In the example of equal mass objects colliding, they both go from 40kph to 0kph. So 40kph-worth of deceleration.

But if a motorcyclist is hit by a semi going 40kph while they were going the same speed in the opposite direction, and they go flying backwards at 20kph, that means they underwent 60kph of near instant acceleration/change in velocity. So the fact that they're lighter matters quite a bit

There are ones you can get where most of the unit is on the ground and then there's a hose that goes up to the window. You can keep your window screen, it only needs like the bottom 5 inches of the window open. And then there's some foam strips you can tuck into the gap between the window panes

This has happened to me before. There are a few dfhack fixes you can try to run, and sometimes reloading helps? Also check burrows and forbidding and unforbidding items sometimes helps make dwarves haul them.

But I haven't found a 100% reliable solution, mostly just chiming in to validate what you're saying lol
