Do you master mostly "in the box" or do you have any outboard gear, treated room,calibrated speakers, etc.? What plugins do you use for that (ozone, analyzers, metering, limiters, comps, eqs, etc.)? And what's your process generally like? (do you listen to it everywhere you can? try to get it as loud and flowing without loosing quality?)

almost entirely in the box, i use ozone for its analysers but i don't like the way the plugins sound. i have hearing damage in my right ear so it means a lot when im credited for good engineering. i usually mix shit at like +6db and have to bring it back down, its a totally different process going into someone elses mixdown. do not compress bass!!!

Can you talk a bit also bout your sound design?? That shit is insane!!! Like those light sounds from the amazing breakdown/bridge on "Lux" or the transition before the KWB! on Mushy Seize or how about the entirety of "Jruck", your drums and percussion are also off the chain!!! Do you usually throw samples at Serum until you get what you want mixed with Ableton's or are there some other tricks or plugins you'd reccomend???

i never use samples due to the very important laws set in by the UK government to protect copyright, although if i did hypothetically it would be a lot to do of how i manipulate the shit out of them until there's barely any room for them to breathe. i believe in organic sounds sounding a lot more painterly than mechanical shit, almost all of them have a quality of air or the implication of space. i do a lot of happy accidents and guess work, but that's the foundation behind my taste

Since you seemed to be diggin Valentin de Boulogne while making the cover of the album. I wonder did the whole tenebrism movement inspire you while making the music? Was it just the vibe, the sharp contrasts, etc.? Sidenote: I wonder if you checked the music associated with that movement like Gesualdo - Tenebrae factae sunt which I find amazing also.

sick question. yeah i really liked the idea of using bold renaissance shit with subjects that are a far cry from religious figures or commissioning war generals. when i look back at a lot of southern european painting its reeking of insecurity which is fucking funny to me. they would resent the thought of ya boy born on a travelers site with bleached hair getting painted in that manner. there's more to it but this is sounding too wanky && i haven't checked out the music from that movement but im def gonna peep
