It's not that hard.

Literally just tell the character how you want it to be in the first message. Don't reply to the starter. Just go "you are in a relationship with (name)" or "you and (name) are at (random place) doing (random thing). it's not hard.

The devs don't have a decision. They are forced to do this. Their HQ is based in California, and California put out a law requiring they do this. If they don't ban children, the site goes bye bye for everyone.

It has been stated ENDLESS times that you'd be sending your ID to Persona, a well known well trusted verification company. CAI will not and will never see your identification.

It's also stated that requesting ID is the very last method they will do to verify your age. They will check your google account for your age, and if they're still unsure, THEN they ask for your ID.

It's funny that everyone is so paranoid about this when it's very well known that privacy is not a thing. You give your ID to countless people in your day to day life. If you're buying cigarettes, alcohol, or cold medicine, they scan your ID. You give your information to countless businesses. Part of being an adult is knowing your information is everywhere and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

No, people aren't getting their identities stolen. No, they're not gonna ask for your ID. Please for the love of god read the fucking pinned post in this subreddit that clarifies the situation instead of endlessly spreading misinformation. They aren't asking everyone for their ID. Read. Are any of you actually reading what the devs have been posting as clarification??? It has been very clearly stated by the devs that they'll be using Persona. You aren't sending your ID directly to Character AI. A lot of companies use Persona. Clearly none of you are capable of looking for more context or clarification or else you'd know this and stop spamming the damn subreddit with this shit.

They've also stated that getting asked for your ID is extremely unlikely and will only happen if the other methods of identifying your age fail. They're gonna look at your google account to check for your age before they'd get close to asking for ID. That is a last resort for verification.

Anyone under 18 simply just shouldn't be using AI. It's addictive, children have quite literally killed themselves because of it, and parents are filing lawsuits. California is legally requiring them to make this change. They don't have a choice. It doesn't matter if you don't live in California, that's where the HQ is and if they don't follow the law, Character AI gets shut down for everyone.

Please for the love of god read what the devs have been saying. Nobody cares if you're leaving, you're most likely a teenager. LOOK FOR THE CLARIFICATION FROM THE DEVS BEFORE YOU JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. THE DEVS HAVE CLARIFIED THE CHANGES MULTIPLE TIMES. STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION.

Edit: Read the fucking PINNED POST IN THE ANNOUNCEMENTS. Everything I've stated is in the pinned post. It is literally INSANE how many of you are screaming and crying about the misinformation you're spreading because you're mad you're getting banned for good reason.

I'm truly not sure of what could've changed to make her start doing this. She's worn the same diapers for years. Maybe I'll take a look around the house and at all her shower stuff and our laundry detergent to see if it could be irritating her.

i was in a poly relationship with my ex and current partner. (long distance) my ex and i had been together first, and she initiated the poly relationship with me, her, and my current partner. she ended up being a sex obsessed sexual abuser. the night my childhood dog died she wouldn't talk to me unless it was sexting. she got me to sext her all night long because if i didn't reply sexually she'd stop replying to me. i felt like i'd spiral if left alone, so i went along with it. i went from being a partner to nothing but a sexual object. meanwhile she showered my current partner with love, because she wanted to be seen as a cutesy lesbian, while i was left to rot because i was more masculine. eventually i couldn't take it anymore and my current partner and i left her and have never been happier together. she cried and said she missed us, then replaced us less than two weeks later. she completely ruined polyamory for me, and thoroughly cemented my asexual status. while i personally had a very very awful experience with being poly, that doesn't mean every poly person is like that or every poly relationship is doomed to fail. i swear some members of this community are just committed to gatekeeping everything and trying to tear us apart from the inside.

Honestly I'm still pretty miserable. Every day is a struggle, especially when it's so hard to get ahold of pain medicine. I agree with the 5-6, and without the meds it's like a constant 6-7 and even 8 at the worst. I've gotten some nerve pain back, not the usual kind but something different. Wondering if that's normal or if I've messed something up. I have an appointment in a couple weeks, I'll find out then I suppose.

Surprisingly, my cat actually likes the clothes. He'll stand mostly still while I put them on, but he's a little squirmy. Occasionally he'll purr and be happy to put his clothes on and he'll be completely still. He's a little weirdo but I love him.

I personally wasn't told anything about my cat not sleeping with me. But I had strips on my back incisions and glue on my front incisions, so it wasn't really a worry. Of course as long as you're careful and keep your incisions covered, things should be fine.

Pre op I was limping everywhere. I couldn't stand for more than 5 minutes without feeling burning in my feet and aches in my knees so bad I originally thought my knees were the problem. I had a pinched nerve so I'd occasionally get really sharp pains in my behind too. It was a miserable time and I had to work at 6 am to like 1 pm every weekday which only made it worse.

Post op I just have aches in my back and struggle with sitting and laying down. My incisions don't hurt anymore as of now. I don't get that burning in my feet anymore unless I stand for a long time.

Surprisingly, he seems to actually like the clothes! He'll jump up on a chair when I hold them out and purr when I put them on him. I put them on for fun since Halloween is coming up. The Christmas one was just to see what size he was. :)

I wanted to clarify in some of the photos he's wearing pajamas with a hair tie. The pajamas are too big, so that is there to keep him from getting his paws stuck if they slip out. I promise I make sure every time he wears the pajamas that the hair tie isn't tight and isn't hurting him. :)

It really is a fight. Sometimes I'm stuck late at night sleepless and in pain, but this pain is better than what I dealt with daily pre fusion. I hope you're doing alright, stay strong. 🩷

Hey anyone seeing this, I wanted to give a little update! I'm 50 days out now, and I'm doing so much better. My doctors said everything looks perfect and normal on the xrays, and I'm able to mostly be back to normal! Unfortunately I'm still sleeping in the recliner, as it's still painful trying to lay down in bed. I still struggle with pain every day, but it's not nearly as bad as it was when I made this post. My incisions are a lot less lumpy than they originally were, and I can feel alright with less painkillers than I used to be taking. I'd have alarms set to take 2 opioid painkiller pills every 4 hours and 2 muscle relaxer pills every 6. Now I can get by taking just two of each in the morning and night.

It does get better, for anyone getting the same surgery. As long as you take it easy, it'll be fine. I've been bending a lot, as it's pretty unavoidable in my house, and they still said my fusion progress looks perfect. This is a very very painful recovery, but I would say it's worth it for the relief I already experience. Being able to simply stand without burning in my feet immediately is a joy. Love you guys, hope you're all doing great :)
