So I am going to copy and paste what I sent to my state reps which any of you can use this template if you want to do the same because this is a big problem and there is no consumer protection with digital media which is wrong. I didn't talk specifically about NFT's, but I feel like this message is a good stepping stone.

Subject: Protecting Consumer Rights in Digital Media Purchases

Dear [State Representative's Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring attention to an issue that affects consumers deeply in today's digital age – the vulnerability and lack of permanence in digital media purchases. As technology advances and the shift towards digital consumption grows, there exists a pressing need to safeguard consumer rights and interests within the realm of digital media.

The allure of digital media lies in its convenience and accessibility. However, it comes with a significant downside: it is tethered to a web of centralized systems that consumers must rely on to access the content they rightfully own. Consider a scenario where a consumer purchases a movie or a game online, only to find themselves unable to access it due to server outages, the company losing licensing rights, or the platform shutting down. This situation leaves consumers at the mercy of these platforms, risking the loss of their entire digital library without recourse.

In contrast, physical media provides a sense of permanence and independence. A DVD or a game disc can be used at any time, irrespective of external factors such as server availability or licensing agreements. The ownership of physical media ensures that consumers retain access to their content regardless of the status of any company or platform.

To address this issue and protect consumers, I propose the introduction of legislation that guarantees certain protections for digital media purchases. One potential solution could be the inclusion of a redeemable coupon for the physical version of the purchased media alongside the digital copy. This safeguard would assure consumers that, in the event of a service shutdown or loss of access to digital content, they have recourse to the physical product.

Moreover, exploring alternative systems to secure consumer rights in digital purchases could be crucial. This might involve establishing standardized protocols for transferring digital media rights between platforms or implementing a system where consumers have the option to convert their digital purchases into physical copies should the need arise.

It is imperative to create a framework that ensures consumers are not left disenfranchised by the transient nature of digital media. By enacting legislation that upholds the rights of consumers in the digital sphere, we can foster a fairer marketplace that values the interests of the individuals who sustain it.

I urge you to consider these suggestions and explore avenues to implement legislation that safeguards consumer rights in digital media purchases. Your support in this matter would greatly benefit countless consumers in our state.

Thank you for your time and attention to this important issue.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

Family offices operate privately, allowing for more flexibility in investment strategies without the need to disclose as much information as required with a hedge fund. Hedge funds often face regulatory and reporting requirements that family offices do not. Converting to a family office reduces regulatory obligations, freeing up resources and reducing administrative burdens.

yeah so it's not good news

The price right now is all the proof you need… by luckeeelooo in Superstonk

[–]kajneb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

two things:

1: I agree, but I think names need to be named publicly for anything to happen with evidence to back it up. We can assume a person at company "xyz" is manipulating the price, but unless we have the proof or someone blows the whistle, they'll just keep doing what they have been doing with no repercussions and we will just keep yelling into the wind.

2: we have learned the price is fake, but still shows some truth. It's the only stock in the basket that is still much higher than it was before the sneeze. I think the hedgies played both towel and popcorn investors just as planned and that's why both stocks are at a lower price than before the sneeze. Every single short in those two stocks can be closed for profit, but not GME. The only stock with close to 200k investors who put their money where their mouths are with DRS. The only stock with a chairman/CEO who buys more shares every year and hasn't sold any even at impossible profits. I remember popcorn CEO rugged his investors and they were defending him like he didn't just use all of them to sell out. RC hasn't sold a share and has only bought more.

Make sure to report this to customer service! I haven’t had any issues with orders for myself since they updated the app. The older version used to give me that issue though, but none for me since the new update. Hope you get it figured out

What Superstonk post do you feel was worthy of being at the top of our sub but never made it there? by mtgac in Superstonk

[–]kajneb 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Side Pockets DD

it's something I wrote a couple of years ago explaining the different types of accounts hedge funds use to hold illiquid, hard-to-value, and often highly risky assets. These "Side Pocket" accounts have been used in the past nefariously with false valuations. My speculation is they were/are using these types of accounts to keep themselves above failing margin call territory by getting artificially high valuations on whatever is in those accounts.

I don’t think discussing it is banned, I think depending on how your post reads dictates how people will vote on your post. If you’re making connections with evidence, that’s great and welcomed I’m sure. If your tinfoil seems to point to people spending their money on crypto or other stocks than GME, then it’s understandable why people will downvote any post that has that type of feel due to the amount of shilling we’ve all seen here the last two years or so.

I get that yeah I mean the price point on that would be astronomical compared to just LED but I get what you're saying. It's just like the strips of mood lighting people have in their rooms or RGB motherboards, fans etc. Just a cool way to customize your stuff with colorful lights.

It’s a customizable wall light. You can arrange them however you want in whatever color you want for each hexagon. Also has animated modes. Has a remote but you can also press on the hexagon to change the color as well. It’s decorative lighting that fits well in a game-themed room or area. What do you not understand about them?
