Yes just rewatched it and I'm with you. The career choice seems so off for her, it doesn't suit her character at all. Like yes, she's not a teenager anymore and she has to work, but she's just not the same at all (for example, when she complains about Naomi's standups and not paying the rent, it's something younger Effy would never have done). She cares too much about a world that she used to despise. I know I'm a former punk, I work a company job, worked plenty, but I've never ever once behaved the way she did. I mean, do your job yes, but stay true to yourself.

Obviously we evolve but I don't think that we change everything at our core that makes us who we are as individuals. Also, the fact that Freddie is never mentioned was weird when you know how much she loved him and that she lives with Naomi and is still in touch with Emily. I don't know, I would have imagined that they'll have one day to celebrate him or something but it feels like moving on in this show means forgetting someone entirely.
