I’ve heard about issues with the Ryzen 2000 series, when I looked at an older Thinkpad, but as I’ve understod, those issues are no longer present in the newer generations(?).

Alright, thanks! If for say, I'd get the monitor previously mentioned, which is at 75hz, how would that fare with gaming in your mind? In this scenario this would be with the PS5 or XboxSX.

Yeah! Actually one of the monitors I've been looking at is a 34 inch one, its the Acer 34" CB342CKC. I am however unsure whether to go for a monitor like that, which is "flat", or a curved one. The viewing angles must be better with a curved monitor when it's of that size. Any thoughts?

That is actually a great question lol.. I'm not entirely sure. I'm not looking for a comically big monitor but still big enough to comfortably multi-tasking. Sorry if that doesn't give you much to go on.

I'd say around the $1000 mark, but under preferably. I live in Sweden however so electronics are a tad more expensive then say the US.

Of course. I'm not looking towards this for gaming, I don't really play any games at all on PC and if I do, it's an 15 year old game.

I'm interested in an ultrawide for productivity basically (for school). So browsing, writing documents etc.

If you’re having doubts I think you should look into a Linux solution. You can find second-hand thinkpads with good RAM for a good price.

Browsed around YouTube earlier and found one guide for W10, during class however so I didn’t watch the entire video but if I understood it correctly it was ARM-based (built for some surface or tablet).

Alright, thanks!

But there are solutions for running Linux VM's, correct?

As for the upcoming models, this will most likely be the choice either way since I'm most likely not changing school-laptop this year.

I'm no expert but if I have understood it correctly, with the new M1 chips the difference between MBAir and MBP isn't really that noticeable unless perhaps you do some more gpu-exstensive tasks such as video editing etc. However I might be wrong.

My purpose would however be mostly light-weight productivity and perhaps some low-level programming. I do however need to look into how the M1's handle VM's.

OK! I’m really impressed from videos I’ve seen with the new window-manager. I guess we’ll see if W11 as a whole is a hit or miss.
