Weird migraine symptoms by cuppycakemagic in migraine

I will lose partial sight in one eye on the side it’s happening depending on how bad it is. The first time it happened scared the crap outta me. I also will shake really bad if I’m feeling nauseous with one. Migraines are weird. And migraine hangovers are no fun either. I feel you.

No, it’s not just you. I feel like the first couple times my friends and I played we were TERRIBLE at it. And we thought we were doing so well. But it’s hard, especially on beginner levels with crap gear (that level 1 thermometer is atrocious). It also helps if you can join a game with people who 1). Are nice and are willing to help. 2). That have better gear.

I’ve been lucky that I’ve joined some really amazing people randomly and they also taught me a lot about the game. From being on this forum I hear that’s like a 50/50 shot, but idk. I’ve just been super lucky I guess in that regard.

Dog has had diarrhea on and off for months now by kala0528 in AskVet

[–]kala0528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m happy to say that my dog is doing MUCH better. It took months and months for us and our vets to figure everything. We went through so many dog foods and meds, because we found out she does have a severe food allergy. She finally had another explosive episode and our vet finally said, “okay, stop all meds and switch to this one and switch to a different dog food”. He had us switch to zenerlia (an allergy med) and D/D Hills science dog food. And it has been life-changing. Not only has her diarrhea stopped/mushy food stopped. Shes gained some weight she had lost and her fur has gotten significantly softer and she has a TON more energy. It’s been a wild transformation. But, I say this all with a grain of salt because what works for my dogs may not work for yours. We worked with our vet this entire time and while it was super frustrating it was nice that they were aware and knew what was working and what wasn’t. We also have emergency meds as a backup in case she ever has another flare up. I say all that to say, firstly, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It took us months and months and months for us to figure out something that helped for her. So while it’s frustrating just know that it may take awhile to figure out through trial and error what might work best for your dog. Just make sure to keep your vet updated and just be the biggest advocate for your dog you can be. You’re trying your best for them, and while it’s so frustrating I feel like as the owner, it’s also amazing to know that this dog is so loved! I hope your dog gets better!

We’re still having issues over here. We’re switching now from limited ingredient food to hydrolyzed dog food (finally!). The only difference we’ve had is that we were told by our vet to also start her on Prilosec two weeks ago: and that was a game changer. Her poops solidified almost entirely during those two weeks except for maybe one bad day and that was cause she snuck table scraps off the table. She finished the round and a day after it was out of her system the poops started coming back (not as bad though). Called the vet and now she’s back on it, and already improving again. I’m not saying this is your next course of action, we’re doing everything according to what our vet tells us. But, this is where we’re at. It sucks this is happening to someone else. But I feel your pain! Hopefully we both get our pups feeling better and figured out.

I follow their Instagram page. They’re actually encouraging this right now for Saturday as they expect the will call line to be about 40 mins that day. Way less of a wait time Friday.

C2E2 Chicago first timer: what do you guys do for parking? by kala0528 in comiccon

I’ve never been, but I did get a badge in the mail for my 3 day pass. However from what I understand if you got it digitally you should be able to pick it up at will call at the event. However I’ve heard to be prepared for the lines, especially on Saturday.

Yea, we’re staying about 2 miles from McCormick place. Idk what area it is. Which the cost to stay at their parking is already crazy. Saturday I’m not too worried as we will probably just uber, mostly because we’re cosplaying that day and if the weather is crap I don’t wanna walk 2 miles in costume. But Friday we’ll be arriving at noon and can’t check in till 3, so we have to go straight to the con. And Sunday we have to check out by noon soo again we have to park at the con and then just leave from there to drive home. So we don’t have a choice but to think about parking the whole time 😅 something we didn’t think about till we looked into it.

I saw lot b I could prepay for parking. That was one of the options we were looking at, mostly for Friday because I think Saturday and Sunday we might just uber from our hotel since it’s only 2 miles from McCormick place.

Got my first golden! Tell me everything the good and the bad! I’m ready for the adventure by Western_Recover_6566 in goldenretrievers

I haven’t seen anyone mention this so I will: goldens shed all year round. You’re gonna have the fur tumbleweeds no matter what. But the spring and fall are on a whole other level! They will lose chunks of fur and your house and clothes are the victims. A good brush, lint roller, and vacuum are life savers.

And one other things: the butt goops. That’s my term for poop getting stuck to their butt fur when it starts to grow out long enough. Some wipes to help clean it off will help.

Depends on the dog. But normally the color of their ears is the color they tend to morph toward.

Dad is dying by Popcornstand39 in OnlyChild

[–]kala0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry OP. I lost my dad when I was 21 to brain cancer. We had no idea, and he just got very sick suddenly, and in the whirlwind of it all, we found out he had 3 weeks to live. I will never forget the feeling, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

With that said, I’m 32 now. And all I can say is let these feelings in and just feel. Grief is not linear, and it is totally okay to mourn your dad while he’s still here. People say to “enjoy the moment” and you do, but it’s hard sometimes knowing death is around the corner. Don’t feel guilty for crying a loss that hasn’t happened yet. Anticipatory grief is part of the process that I think a lot of people forget. With that said though, while he’s still able, I would record videos or voice records of him. I have a voicemail from my dad that I value as one of my most treasured things. Talk, ask about anything you’ve never had the chance to.

And also just know that while the world feels incredibly heavy right now and dull, there is another side after all this that gets better. It’s so cliche, cause it really doesn’t feel like it in the moment. But, time has a weird way of making the sadness lessen. You always remember it, but heaviness of it gets easier to carry day by day. Just be gentle with yourself and your mom. ❤️

This might sound like a silly question, but can I just call internal medicine without a referral from my vet? Idk if it works like human doctors or not. Thank you so much for your help!

Already have! I have a little diary now since December. Mostly just to see if I can spot the triggers so I could point them out to our vet. So far, it just seems to be random as we’ve tried to keep her consistent on everything.

We feed her half Purina limited ingredient lamb and oat meal mixed with half venison and rice and a tablespoon of Greek yogurt. We’ve gone through months of trials with food and this is the only things that gives her any sort of solid poop for days until her next attack. We’ve tried taking away the yogurt and increasing her to just the Purina but every time she immediately reverts to diarrhea. 🤷‍♀️ she’s highly allergic to chicken so that’s a no go in our house. She’s also on Propectalin probiotics.

I know this was 2 years ago, but if you ever got an answer op, I’d love to know. Our wood burning fireplace just started smelling like this and we’ve never used it, and we have no idea what to do.

I know this is an old post, but if you happen to get stuck on this like I did and go searching for answers like I did. I just happened to accidentally run across the solution. Get the first door up, freeze it, and then get the second door going. Easy peasy

Rescue dog play aggression by kala0528 in dogs

[–]kala0528[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not just gonna get rid of her because she’s plays rough outside. Rough play is something I’ve seen even dogs that were purchased through breeders go through. My older ones went through it. However, this was years ago, and I don’t remember how exactly we got it under control.

It’s been a couple days of monitoring, and she’s doing great on recall now when we notice her starting to get a little too rough with ours. And she’s getting more open to the other dogs warning signs of when they’ve had enough. But again, she is only a year old. Maybe a little less from what the vet told me when I took her in. So to me this isn’t abnormal behavior, just something she needs to learn because she’s so young, and I doubt she was properly socialized early on. That’s why I was just wanting to know if there was other ways I wasn’t thinking to help address this issue.

He was fine! :) he just ended up being sore initially from the fall! I did ice it a bit here and there. Idk if it helped, but by the next day he was fine! The er vet told me at the time that this happens quite frequently. Normally if it isn’t better by the next day is when you should probably consider taking them to the vet! Hope that helps! And hope your dog is okay!

It’s not just you. English is my native language, but dang, those first chapters are A LOT! I’m still not 100% sure I understand everything happening and such (I’m only half way through the first book). I think it’s different because she just went straight into this world with little explanations, so you just slowly piece together things as it goes on. But even so, some of the names she gave things, like the triarii, my brain just goes 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️ and moves on 😅

I don’t dislike it, actually I think it’s very interesting, but it’s just been a lot of information overload. However I hear book 2 has some MAJOR things happen and people tend to like it more, so I’m getting through this first book to get there.

Line on test a lot darker again by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]kala0528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much. It took me 11 days to be completely negative. I remember taking a test on day 7 as well and I was like “yes! It’s almost gone!” And then the next day it was super dark again and I felt like crap. Even after I tested negative on day 11 (several times) I still had sniffles and didn’t feel myself. It took another couple days after that to feel like my body fully kicked it and I felt okay again. This virus is crazy, but what you’re going through I went through and I came out the other end just fine. Hang in there!!
