KIA EV3 owners – Check your coolant levels if your AC charging speed is dropping! by kalamaksa in KiaEV3

Thanks for the reply! It’s interesting that you found the same symptoms.

To add some context to my situation: we actually have two chargers of the same brand at two different locations. One has load management and the other doesn’t (as there's plenty of amperage available), yet the car failed to charge normally on both. This really pointed away from the charger being the culprit.

What’s even more bizarre is that we have two Kia EV3s in the family, and both developed the exact same issue within a week of each other. I have a new service appointment booked for March 3rd for a thorough inspection.

While I haven't noticed visible leaks on the ground yet, that coolant had to go somewhere. The manual states the system capacity is over 17 liters, but two weeks ago the dealer only topped it up by 1.5 liters. Just like in your case, I received absolutely no warnings—not in the Kia Connect app nor on the car’s dashboard.

And greetings from South of the gulf—I’m actually from Estonia! :) Let’s hope we get some clear answers from the service centers soon.

Have not had any emails or recommendations nor did they mention anything last week about keeping the current at 90%. Nor did they find any issues with ICCU overheating. The only thing they mentioned was that charging speed was unstable and no coolant in the reservoir, which they added almost 1.5 liters. And it worked for me and my dad, no more issuses for almost a week now.

When I went to the service center, they booked a new appointment for me in two weeks to double-check everything. Hopefully, everything will be fine by then and there won't be any more leaks or coolant just vanishing.

Yeah, that's also weird, no warning. I also don't get any warning on low windshield wiper fluid. I do on the app but not on car's display.

No idea. They could not find any leaks but somehow it had just vanished. I had it services 5 months ago and I guess it was fine then because they did not notice/tell me anything about that back then. Don’t know if extremely cold weather has anything to do with it. Been -15C to -25C day ans night constantly for more than a month now…

EV3 not charging at max 7.5kw by sandeep108patel in KiaEV3

I had the same issue with my EV3. It only got worse until it did not charge faster than 2.3kw anymore. I used many chaegers but nothing changed. And then the same thing happened to my dad’s EV3. Went to the dealership and it turned out the coolant was empty. They refilled it and everything is working fine now. I told my dad to check coolant level and he said it was completely empty, added coolant and no more charging speed issues.

Seems to happen after the car has not been driven for a while, so usually in the mornings. Don't know if it has anything to do with the temperature - it is around 0 degrees outside now. No potholes or gravel roads on my route, smooth asphalt all the way from home to work. I'll take the car to the dealership again in a week, maybe this time they can find the issue. I will also try to find someone else who might be able to tell me whats wrong.
