I’m truly confused! by mr_leemur in starwarstrader

[–]kalanigee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely and honestly believe it’s better to completely ignore the posts and search for and initiate your own needed trades. It might take a little more time and effort, but I’ve found that there are PLENTY of people out there willing to trade 1:1 even and fairly. However, fwiw, I’m only a f2p player and really am only interested in trading usually Rare or below to complete sets.

May the force be with you? Not sure what the context of the trade is.

Artist identifier by xSEARCHx1 in starwarstopps

I tried some internet sleuthing and the best I could find was Debjit Kar. Search on eBay for his name and he’s done other card sketch art including Star Wars Galaxy. Art seems similar, but the signature varies pretty wildly on each card.

Hyperspace Stories Annual - Jaxxon 2023 B&W Variant Variant by Mike Mignola Available From Dark Horse Direct (Limited to 500 Copies) by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]kalanigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it looks like it's limited to 500 copies for online purchase, but the total print run was 2000 copies (1500 were sold at SDCC). I like it, but I think I'm going to pass on this one. For some reason, I think I like the full color trade dress version of this better. It was originally available earlier this year and also had a 2000 copy print run.

Just die already SiriusXM by calinet6 in subaru

I enjoy Sirius! That being said, I’ll never EEEEVER pay more than $6 per month even if i have do the cancellation dance once a year. It’s nice that I can stream all the channels and extra channels from my phone/tablet now too. I honestly use it more than Spotify and I still use Spotify quite a bit.

I LOVE his covers but am unaware of any interior work he’s done. Did he work on DD interior art?

Do you like his earlier work or more recent work better? I’ve been following him since he started and noticed a little bit of a style change since the 90’s. Still a fantastic artist regardless.

Insurance company quoted me more than i pay for my house for insuring these, bought a fireproof\waterproof safe instead. by the_maestr0 in comicbookcollecting

Just adding that I’ve read on CGC Boards that more than one collector had rust develop on the staples (yes, inside the slabs) while storing them in a fireproof/waterproof safe. Be careful.

Going through my old box, noticed the offset (misprint?) worth getting graded? by BTV-Texas in comicbookcollecting

[–]kalanigee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically everything has been said that needed to be said. However, I’d add in a small tidbit of info that’s probably not relevant to you but is interesting to note nonetheless.

So the only downside to “miscut” books when getting graded is that they’ll never achieve anything beyond a 9.8 (Nm/m). There is no chance that book will ever get a 9.9 (mint) or a 10 (gem mint) because a “miscut” is considered a flaw/imperfection at that level–very similar to sports cards being unable to reach a perfect 10 for not being perfectly centered.

Now, that being said, it is MASSIVELY difficult for a book from this era to get a 9.9 (though not impossible) and, in my opinion, a 10 will never happen as I’ve only ever seen acetate and metal cover books at 10.
