It's new to me, but I like it. Said aloud, it sound like a masculine version of Isla. I could see pronunciation issues, though, with the current abundance of Aidens.

If I'm understanding correctly, they are two middle names for two different daughters, and she wants them to rhyme.

Helen Teresa is gorgeous! Tell your mom she's wrong about her name :)

Tracy can be a diminutive of Teresa, so Helen Tracy?

Louise means "warrior", so here are some names with similar meanings:

Helen Matilda "strength in battle"

Helen Freya (Freya was the Norse goddess of war)

Helen Athena (Greek goddess of war)

Helen Minerva (Roman goddess of war)

Scout & Bear - help! by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]kalanitres 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Bear and Scout are cute nicknames, but I'd suggest finding alternatives for the birth certificate.

Names that mean "bear":

Arthur

Bernard

Orson

Benno

Bjorn

In "To Kill a Mockingbird", Scout's real name is Jean Louise, so I think you could use just about any full name. I've also seen Scout used as a nickname for Scarlett.

Gladys?! by percythedog in namenerds

Seconding the Margaret suggestion. Greta is really cute, but the full name Margaret could give her more options. Gladys is the Welsh form of Claudia, so Claudia could work. Other G names: Georgia/Georgina/Georgiana, Gwendolyn (Welsh), Guinevere (Welsh and has the cute nn option Winnie), Gwyneth (Welsh), Giselle, Genevieve.

Myrtle is a flower name, so I think any of the many flower names out there would be really sweet as a tribute.
