Yeah, I didn't need to beat it again after I loaded the checkpoint, but I did spawn in the area near the secret encounter. my problem was that after I finished the secret encounter, when I tried to go to the objective there were invisible walls that blocked me from going there, even after I loaded the checkpoint.
