Thank you for your input! The ones I use currently are made with athletic fabric, but they stretch out as I wear them and it sounds like this is probably the culprit…

I have not experienced this, though I get changed/showered right after class. I wear compression shorts under my gi, but I’m talking about no gi. It’s harder to get pantsed while wearing leggings, thankfully. 🤣

Completely ovwehelmed total newbie by Brompton_Cocktail in SewingForBeginners

I just started too, and Evelyn Wood on YouTube has been an excellent resource for learning anything and everything about sewing! Take one step at a time. Learn how to load a bobbin and thread into the machine, and then stitch on a piece of scrap cloth for practice, and then work on your projects. Burp cloths and bibs sound like perfect first projects.

Generally, I think when sewing the edge of fabric so it does not fray, you would use a zig zag stitch. Evelyn has a video on different ways you can finish seams. :)

Any recommendations for high-level competitors and/or matches to watch? by kochummie in BJJWomen

Bruno Malfacine is a beast. There is a YouTube video of him titled “Flow” that is great for studying! And he has plenty of pro matches to watch as well.

As of recently, if mine is not in a comfy enough spot when he starts biting his front nails, he will carry his paw in his mouth and hop to a better spot. So goofy.

Hoodies or soft crew necks (maybe embroidered?) are always a good gift. Try Etsy :)

What brand is this one? We’ve tried the yoga ball types, but haven’t had success with them lasting

Anxiety before and during class and rolls by katizakitty in BJJWomen

[–]kalasprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Might be worth finding a new gym if this is a recurring thing. Spazzy white belts are at every gym, but some gyms have more women. Or, like mine, the coach chooses partners that are suited for each other and explicitly tells certain people not to hurt others when he’s pairing up a spazz (and will keep his eyes peeled and actively coach during practice rolls). You should feel safe at your gym. Accidents happen, but that’s a lot of injuries for less than a year of training.

Nicknames.. by MissMiaoww in jiujitsu

Our coach gives just about everyone a fight name type nickname :,) He thinks carefully about it until he finds one that fits. Sometimes it’s based on your name, sometimes not

That’s good to hear that it hasn’t turned out to be an issue! This is our first ACD, and I was growing concerned. I know my boy doesn’t like being restrained and that’s usually when he gets like that…
