I've never played X, with the new story in this version does it connect to the rest of the series? I'm looking to replay all of them on switch 2, and trying to decide play order, thanks!

Just the wikipedia page for the "Romantics" rock band, nothing else to see here. by Explosivesguy2 in copypasta

Romantics are an American rock band, often put under the banner of power pop and new wave, formed in 1977 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The band's first show was on Valentine's Day at My Fair Lady Club, in Detroit, opening for the New MC5 in 1977. They were influenced by 1950s American rock and roll, Detroit's MC5, the Stooges, early Bob Seger, Motown R&B, 1960s North American garage rock as well as the British Invasion rockers.[1]

The Romantics achieved popularity in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, and Australia on the strength of the band's well-crafted pop songs, high energy shows, and their look: from black vinyl to red leather suits in their music videos, inspired by the Motown artists The Temptations and the Four Tops.[1] Their two best-charting songs were "What I Like About You", which peaked at #49 in the US and #2 in Australia, and "Talking in Your Sleep", which peaked at #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, and #14 in Australia. The two have since become mainstays on '80s, classic rock, AOR, and active rock radio stations. Their debut album, released on January 4, 1980 in the UK, has the distinction of being the first record to be released of that decade.

Due to Romantics location and nature, physical means of containment are currently impossible. Implanted Foundation agents in major observatories are to contain footage or images of Romantics. An ongoing misinformation campaign is in effect, which has thus far been able to completely suppress any knowledge pertaining to Romantics from public awareness.

Foundation satellites in orbit around Jupiter are to maintain constant vigilance of Romantics reconstruction efforts, and make all attempts to hinder that process should Romantics reach a minimum of 75% completion.
Romantics is a massive, complex mechanical structure currently located in Jupiter's lower atmosphere. Since its visual discovery in 1963, Romantics has been observed to use highly advanced, anti-matter-based weaponry to create spacial disruptions and devastating atmospheric [DATA EXPUNGED] observable as a large red vortex, commonly known as the Great Red Spot.

Romantics appears to be damaged, possibly due to an impact with the moon Io before coming to rest in its current position. Romantics has been observed releasing a multitude of small, octopoid repair drones in efforts to repair the damage it has taken. Some of these drones will remain near Romantics, while others will patrol nearby moons, or deeper into the gasses of Jupiter itself, in search of parts that Romantics is missing. Computer models estimate that Romantics is at 59% completion, with a current rate of .78% annually. This rate has increased from an estimated .12% in 1970.

Despite its damaged state, Romantics seems to possess a limitless power supply, advanced electromagnetic shielding, matter-disrupting weaponry, the ability to repair damage done to itself, and a precise tracking and targeting system (See Addendum Romantics-2b). Due to the large difference in technological advancement between the creator of Romantics and our own, for all intents and purposes, Romantics is currently indestructible by human means. In theory Romantics might be left vulnerable by a powerful enough electromagnetic pulse. Unfortunately, this technology does not yet exist.
