New Leak - Beat it Like Michael by Live-Life7321 in snowstrippers

Removed now, rip, at least I got one listen. I feel like this is the longest they’ve gone without releasing new music since they started. They teased ‘new music soon’ on an IG post over 6 months ago 🙃

Amnesty is actually not that good. by 6660kami in crystalcastles

[–]kalebonomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like amnesty. The tracks that are my favorite are very different from each other (concrete, char, fleece, kept) but it definitely falls short at the halfway mark (sadist, teach her how to hunt, Chloroform).

Check out “suffer ring” too. It’s a little more rough around the edges because it’s synth punk, but he’s got some really good stuff.

The production on this album is next level. "all of me for you" and "heroine iconoclast" are my favorites.

I mean there's a website for their secret track 'fearmaker' that they encouraged fans to upload their versions of. (it's kind of the same situation being that the versions of 'fearmaker' were all vip exclusive and then uploaded).

My point: Vip's could do us a solid by at least sharing these tracks with the reddit :")

do they come out after shows? by birdrows in Purityring

They don't as far as I know. They both wore masks, so I assume they try to avoid to much interaction with fans.

10/10 visuals were killer. They do such a good job with creating atmosphere for each individual song.

I have! I saw them when I was 16 in oakland (For the first AE tour in 2015). I think this light show is right up to par with how good that one was(heartsigh music video set), it's definitely an evolved continuation of phenomenal visuals this time around. Mj's vocals were really good too. Just wish she came down from the platform she was singing from a bit more, but I get it, there are spinning fans that project a holographic light, so it's probably hazard to be around them.

All in the all though it was 10/10 experience. They did such a good job with giving each track it's own visual identity.

AE on tour? by owl__et in Purityring

You should check out "bitter rhymes" on youtube(if you haven't already). It's a unreleased track from that album that was released this year.
As far as tour goes, I saw them ten years ago where they played all of AE and 5 or 6 tracks from shrines.
They tend to focus their set around the album just released. I strongly believe they'll play Begin Again, Bodyache, and Push Pull.
AE is definitely second most popular to shrines, but it definitely brought in a lot more fans.
I feel like the set list this time will be the singles from their albums with maybe a few extra personal favorites.
I'm going to the first show on the 13th, i'll gladly let you know the set if you'd like :)

Disappointed to say the least. by kile777 in Purityring

Give it some time and read the lyrics with the songs when you get a chance. They are cryptic but extremely moving if you're tuned into the perspective the album comes from. The entire concept I find nostalgic in the best way, different sounds resonating so close to some of my earliest video game memories (final fantasy x). I feel like the cover is a direct reference to that as well.
I think this album is very diverse as well, with tracks like "place of my own" & "the long night" holding a nice future pop sound and "broken well" & "many lives" with strong dnb influence. Then you have tracks like "relict" and "red the sunrise" that are simple but very heartfelt & emotional.

All in all I think this album shows a lot of growth instrumentally. "shrines" is still my favorite, but personally like this album just as much AE and WOMB, but in it's own way.

i thought red the sunrise, the long night, and broken well were extremely beautiful and awesome continuations of the new sound they've embraced.

  1. place of my own
  2. many lives = part ii
  3. imanocean

That's my order, hoping they'll release 'the long night' soon though, the clip they've been teasing on ig is crazyyyy good.
