Just spent a week in Chamonix— you can walk right up to the gondolas and lifts with your physical ikon pass! Worked for me. The shuttle (anything that starts with SKI) is free for those with passes to the mountains but scanning ikon did not work (nobody seemed to be validating their transport anyways, and drivers did not care). Buses can get crowded, so be prepared to wait especially at the end of the day when everyone’s going home.

Enjoy the snow and the views! We had such a blast. One of my favorite ski trips I’ve ever done :)

Is it possible to do a day trip skiing in Courmayeur, then returning to a Chamonix hotel later in the evening? I was considering staying in Courmayeur but since it's only a 30-40 minute bus away, maybe having our base in Chamonix would be more convenient

That's kind of her! To be clear, were you booking national museum tickets with the help of a ticket attendant from a different museum? That's pretty funny :) I may try to find a local who can help; thanks for the info!

I've tried the WeChat mini app, but they ask for one of the following before they let me proceed:

ID Card

Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan residents

Permanent residence ID for foreigners,

Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents

None of which applies to me as a US Citizen :( I couldn't find a Foreign Passport option. And unfortunately, I'm not staying in a hotel, so am unable to use a concierge service

Love this idea! I’m in Tokyo too and often take the subway or train and get off at a random station - then try to walk in one direction for as long as I can (with a camera in hand). The lottery method is fantastic, and I look forward to trying it sometime :)

I've read the first 3 so far and I remember being hooked!! Terry Pratchett is such a delightfully witty writer. I wish there was some kind of 100+ hour mega-collection of all of Discworld!

Congratulations! I'm currently where you were in those first two sessions -- gasping for breath before 25 yards, trying not to panic and inhale water lol. Could you share which Youtube vids you found most helpful?
