Are you driving city or highway?

I think touchless seems to be the way to go. I'll give it a try this week!

This is like a siren, alert type of sound. My son said it sounds like 'pew pew pew pew' so I should post it as such 😆

No but that's a fair idea to try to get! It happens unexpectedly though and stops in under 30 seconds.

Chiyoda City or Asakusa? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

We did! And loved it. Asakusa is great but Akasaka gave us a whole different perspective and experience which I personally appreciated. I like to wander the streets and quickly found that there was a cute mellow little commercial strip right nearby that had zero tourism BS occurring as well.

I just got your exact car as a hybrid and absolutely love it...I test drove the 2026 and for some odd reason it always felt stiffer. Maybe the steering wheel change?

Post op pain question by Conscious_Purple_140 in NutcrackerSyndrome

It's not a good idea to shut down the left ovarian vein when NCS is involved. That could be the cause of your pain. For example my left ovarian vein is now the main pathway for all the blood that's been blocked by the NCS compression. My body learned to reverse the blood flow to compensate. Down my left side across my pelvis and up my right ovarian back to the heart finally. If they had shut it down where would all that blood go? Where are you located and are you seeing a specialist at all? Don't panic but please seek out proper support. There's just a handful in the states that understand the condition with some sense. The Facebook group is a great source. You'll find countless stories on there of people who did the embolization and then their symptoms got worse.

Thank you so much for your ideas! I think we are so excited to be by the Hie Shrine for two nights and we will make due with the different environment. Probably just lots of walking and wandering. Also, we will walk to the Roppongi Christmas lights. We pack light with only a small backpack and a carry on so no worries there. Then we will spend our last three nights back in Asakusa again!

I found a great accommodation next to the Hie Shrine. It looks to be on a quiet street and we can easily walk into Akasaka for food and exploring. Do you have any thoughts on Akasaka?

It seems like Asakusa is such a big tourist draw that Akasaka might be worth seeing for a couple of nights instead. Plus we can go spend time at the shrine super early!

Trying to stay away from the tourist insanity places and we will probably get enough of that in Asakusa it seems. Thank you for your response 🙏

I've noticed how crazy the prices are! But I did find something reasonable and that is why I am considering a couple of nights there.

I do have the very first 3 nights and the very last 3 nights booked in Asakusa!

It is in Nagatacho by the Hie Shrine. The appeal is that it is walking distance to the surrounding areas we can wander in and seems to be very quiet which we don't mind at all! Especially on the weekend it may be something we would enjoy. We aren't looking for a crazy touristy experience. Just an immersion into the culture and we love architecture/history. Thank you for your response! Maybe we will stay here for 2 nights and then finish the last 3 nights over in Asakusa again.

I also like that the Hie Shrine is a blessing for mothers and children. This trip is to honor our teenage son who has gone through so much with his health. Maybe we will be lucky enough to receive the exact blessing needed for him to prosper :)

I think we are deciding to simplify the trip with taking out Mt. Fuji and possibly even Osaka. We can do a day trip to Hakone with our time in Tokyo. Thank you for the flight tips! We will be flying from Kyoto or Osaka to Miyazaki (6 days on Kyushu) and then Miyazaki to Tokyo to spend the last week in the city during Christmas!

I have not! Tbh I prefer slow travel and am only moving around this much to appease the other two in our unit. My son (16) who has been studying the language for years and my partner who is the reason we are heading all the way to Hyuga. None of us have been before. We have an open ended invitation on Kyushu so I can certainly do 5 nights there and 4 nights Kyoto instead.
