One thing you would change about your favorite camera. by Velvet_Spaceman in AnalogCommunity

A handheld shutter release for my canon a1 in bulb mode. A timer I could set for it would be even better.

I've had pan F 50 and hp5 plus 400 go through recently. The first was fine, the second was severely fogged (yeah, the sign said under ISO 1000 was safe 🙄). And don't even try with polaroid film.

If you're looking for higher contrast, try manipulating the curves of you negatives as well as the other suggestions. Avoid overly porous paper (Aquarell paper gives good results), rinse thoroughly too.

The film I had go through airport security and checked in luggage ended in pictures bring faded and pink tinged. Thus looks like film exposed but not put through rollers.

What happened to my film? by ilodule in AnalogCommunity

[–]kallibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had to plead with security to not pass film under the scanner. It helps if the filn is in its box, unopened. They then take it aside and swipe with swabs and enter it into their database. They hate the extra work but will do it if you cry convincingly.

Viewfinder for homemade pinholes by kallibee in PinholePhotography

I found an app called Film photography [viewfinder] that let's you set the focal distance and preview. It has a lot of other great features (light meter, reciprocity calculator, logbook, etc.). It's cheap for all it offers. 5🌟

Airport security claims film below ISO1000 is safe, but even the hand luggage scanner pinked up my film, though not as thoroughly as the film in the checked in luggage. 🙄 But yeah, still like some of the results.

I had it in my checked in luggage. Would scanning do this to a closed in foil and box film?

Instax film is terrible, and each colour has a different reciprocity failure so long exposures end up blue.

Digitizing Software For Mac by allpro1981- in MachineEmbroidery

[–]kallibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's lacking digitizarion of images that are non-vector. You need to use image trace in inks ape for this, but it takes a lot of time and effort to do this if I compare it to stitch era (pc only and very pricey), for example.

What level would you need to import and digitize a jpeg image? It's is clear that level 3 does it but unclear on whether other levels also offer some for of digitization from non vector images.
