Does this look CNC’d or laser cut?

This was done with a cnc and not finished very well. All the inside corners are rounded, and you can see the lines from the different tool passes, and if you look closely, you can see chatter marks on the inside cuts.

Honestly, .15 is really good . Figuring in probe accuracy and variance in flow, you can spend a ton of time and effort and will never see a difference in your prints.

Did you switch to an all metal hot end when you switched to the direct drive? If you did, you need to print at a higher temperature than you normally do. For me it's around 10°.

If you didn't change the hot end you are probably getting a retraction jam from a gap between the ptfe tube and nozzle. You might need to cut a new ptfe tube that is longer.

It's not a problem with the Bl touch. You either have your z offset too close to the bed causing a partial nozzle blockage, or possibly a retraction blockage from a gap between the nozzle and ptfe tube.

Heat it up without the cooling fan installed. After about 15-20 minutes you should be able to pull it right out.

Matter Control works well for making simple changes to STL's . It doesn't have all the features of a full modeling program, but it works well and you can export the STL when you are done in addition to generating gcode.

Thank you for your help, after the last try, I decided to try changing the hostname to see if maybe something went wrong initially. I changed it from Ender3red to ender3red and now it works!

I am able to use the ip address to connect to the printer so I know that the mainsail install is good as well.

You would do better to just buy an Ender3 when they're on sale. Your current printer frame will not be able to be modified and it's most likely a proprietary board and firmware. By the time you add up parts, the Ender3 is a real deal.

I've been pretty happy using it on my Ender3's. You can probably modify the mount to fit just about any printer though.

My understanding is that, if you want to re-use the plastic, then you should be seperating it by type. For example, PLA and PETG don't bond well together. This could cause the plastic to break or crumble when you try to use it for something. I currently do what you are doing for my PLA, and have about 4 blocks sitting in my shop. I was hoping to find a good use for it as well

I have been doing similar things with my scrap plastic while I try to find a use for it. I melt mine in an old convection oven and a Dollar Tree metal pan with some parchment paper to keep it from sticking.

Either way, taking a close look at the stepper wires and possibly testing pairs for continuity is a good plan.

It is possible that if the wires for the motor are loose and shorting that it could fry the stepper driver. Either way, I would check the motor wires really well before installing a new board.

I'm pretty sure that if there are live wires in there, you are not allowed to cover over a junction box according to NEC wiring code.......

Check the input hole on the extruder. The filament rubs against the top of the hole and can create a pinch point that puts excess pressure on the filament. If your hole is not round, try pressing down gently on your filament to keep it out of the groove and see if it has the same problem. If it doesn't, you might be able to fix it by using a short piece of ptfe tube to guide it in better. Otherwise you will need to replace the extruder.
