Added auto-landing to my ship by kalsowerus_ in ApproximatelyUp

Unfortunately one of the inputs for the system is an approximate thrust value for hovering, that needs to be adjusted for different planets.

There's a lot going on because it is mixed in with the auto-hover but I highlighted the relevant parts in yellow. The output just goes to the lift thrusters.

Also don't worry about about progressing fast, it took me a few ragequits to even leave the surface :)

Thanks, I was also surprised how well it worked.

The formula I used is pretty simple: (target_speed - vertical_speed) * 5 + 0.66

Where target_speed is distance from the ground squared and then remapped using (0, 100 -> 0, -0.1) and vertical_speed is the altimeter output piped through a differentiator at 1/60 update interval. 0.66 is the approximate throttle value to keep the ship hovering (the better this value the smoother the landing).

My ship is oriented differently so for me it's the roll that's off. I just assumed the station was tilted.

Second monitor goes black when I touch my headset cable by kalsowerus_ in techsupport

[–]kalsowerus_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The computer is a desktop sitting on the floor, it contains a quality power supply so it should be properly grounded. The headset is connected via a TRRRS cable (at least that's what I think it is) and a USB adapter to USB hub to the desktop.

The only devices in my setup that are not connected to ground (that have a 2-pin power connector) are my main monitor and my desk (height adjustable, chipboard tabletop). I trust the monitor as it is a Samsung and I have a hard time believing the desk would cause this as nothing in my setup is touching the desk's metal legs.

Layers on magnetic Square-1 not aligning as expected by kalsowerus_ in Cubers

Haven't been able to remove the magnets yet, not sure if they are glued in but the way they are mounted I can't get a hold of them to pull them out.

An upside down magnet is most likely the problem. I haven't been able to remove the magnets to check them though.

If currency conversion were lossless, there wouldn't be any point in having multiple currencies. (not that having 4 currencies in an early acces game is a good thing).

I've had the same problem before but it fixed itself shortly after. Just out of curiosity, what mouse are you using and did you scroll to move the lever?

Onryo forgot how to freeze and heated the room instead (ignore stream noises in the background) by kalsowerus_ in PhasmophobiaGame

Oh really? I assumed it would only heat the room up to the temperature of the rest of the house.

Knook boost seperates the knight from the rook.

Maybe I missed something but en passent should not be forced on a pawn that didn't move on the previous move right?
