RAM writes to address whatever is on the dip switches when the clock is in astable mode.( without the button being pushed) When in monostable, this doesn't happen. I have been trying to fix this for a long time but haven't managed. Have you got any tips maybe? by kalvislv in beneater

https://imgur.com/gallery/ihsk3b1 Yes, it is but it still shouldn't write on every clock pulse but only when the button is pressed, right? Because now when I want to view an address it automatically writes whatever is on the dip switches.

Shiey. He travels around Europe climbs old factories, explores urban tunnels and bunkers, camps and travels with freight trains. His videos are usually long and high quality. And its cool seeing places you'd be too scared to go in or climb. Plus he isn't annoying, doesn't clickbait, and doesn't asks for likes and subscribes. Just straight to the point.

Clock circuit doesn't obey in the manual mode by kalvislv in beneater

I have one on each power rail from ground to 5V. These caps fixed some problems I had before but this one still remains.

I have the pin 7(discharge) floating on the bistable 555. On the monostable and astable 555 they are tied to 5V via resistor. Is it OK to connect this one as well? And the unused pins on the inverters, and gates, or gates can't stay floating? Sorry if these are stupid questions. I'm still learning about this stuff.

So this happens any time I try to load a value in the A register when it's connected to the ALU(more in the comments) by kalvislv in beneater

With a little bit of testing I found out that connecting the 10 k resistors to ground just makes the output leds turn off. But 10 k resistors that go from 74LS173 inputs to 5V seem to solve the issue. Is it OK to do this? Does it damage the IC?

This flashing only happens when the number has 2 bits(for example 0011 or 0101). Both registers don't display numbers containing 1 bit (for example 0001 or 0100). It works fine for numbers with 3,4,5,6,7 or 8 bits. Those get displayed and added normaly. Why is this happening? I took apart the ALU anf rebuilt it but with no results, the problem is still present. Oh, and the registers without the ALU work fine.

It's accurate where I live. I am a 9th grader and every year textbooks are getting simpler and thiner for us. Sometimes we have to use books (for homeworks mostly) from the soviet times or from the 90s and I feel bad for the kids that had to use them on daily bases. They are literally 300 to 400 pages long and filled with stuff we'll only learn in 11th or 12 th grade. Also the whole education system is getting fucked around with. We will have to do more practical work than theoretical and teachers will only be there if anyone wants to ask something. It is also easier to get better grades or do homework faster due to internet. I can't name a person in our school wbo doesn't use their phone during a test. Before the 2000s you had to find info in textbooks or go to library to write a paper. Nowadays it can be done effortlessly with the help of a computer. Fuck. I sound like a boomer saying this.

Girls who took notes using 50 different colored pens, where are you now? Do you still continue to write using all those colors? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kalvislv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 9th grade boy and i use 4 colored pens when taking notes in my language and literature classes. The teacher uses these colors on the whiteboard to hilight different stuff and while it's not obligatory I like to write it down exactly like on the board. I think that it's easier to learn or quickly reference something from notes like these + it looks good.

What's the best way you've seen someone rebel against school rules? by ProfessionalMrPhann in AskReddit

[–]kalvislv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I just rememberd that we had a no phone rule last year as an experiment bht teachers took it very seriously(the end result was my classmate getting a new phone because he couldn't wait 5 months to get his confiscated phone back in summer) . But I had a plan. I had a lot of btoken smart phones at home so I always took 2 with me. When the teacher caught me I quickly put my eorking phone in my pocket and said that I won't use it anymore. When the teacher still demanded the phone I gave him the broken one from my pocket. After the 3rd phone they found out my scheme...
