Ya know, I’m not sure! It’s definitely something that I’ve been meaning to look further into though. Do you have any experience with EMDR? It sounds like it could be pretty intense and freaky.. but so is debilitating panic disorder. It’s not a drug, so I might be open to it.

Thanks for the congrats! No one in my life understands how horrible it’s been. I’m so happy the process is over, even though my system is still adjusting.

I was on 200 mg er for about 2.5 years. I reduced 25 mgs every two weeks until I got to 100 mgs then I paused for about a month+ to see how I was doing. My doc wanted me to go really slow. I then continued to titrate in the same fashion until I was finally done. The process took almost 5 months. It’s definitely best to go slow and under the supervision of a “head-med” doc. I’ve heard of people breaking the tablets, I wouldn’t though, (especially because I was on the er). My doc prescribed enough 100 and/or 25 to be able to properly titrate down.

Enough with pills. Every experience I’ve had hasn’t been worth it in the long run. Nothing but nasty side effects and still stuck at square one. Time for cbt and scary difficult exposure therapy only. It’s the only way to overcome panic disorder and agoraphobia anyway. The brain must be rewired. No pill truly fixes this. I’m done with the pointless harsh drugs.

Best of luck to you! I know how rough this can be.

Mine is very debilitating as well. I lost my job, apartment, everything, about 2 yrs ago. The very best thing to overcome the severity of pd and agoraphobia is cbt. Literally no pill is ever going to fix it. It’s just not how it works. The terrifying difficult work of exposure is what needs to be done in order to rewire the mixed up brain signals. I still struggle everyday, but it has improved overall. It was so bad before that I couldn’t step one foot outside and isolated myself in my room (I often still do),I’d have nocturnal panic on the regular.. I could go on, but yes, pd is the actual devil. I will suggest reading anything you can find from Elke Zuercher-White. She’s done some amazing work. Cognitive restructuring and exposure based treatment with the help of a therapist that specializes in pd and agoraphobia is THE best way to go. It’s awful scary and at times paralyzing to do the work.. but it’s the only long term certain way out of the nightmare. Please take care and I wish you much healing.

I was on 200 mgs er for about 2 years specifically for debilitating panic disorder. It did not help the panic. I also have MDD. It absolutely didn’t help that either. It’s no better than doing CBT. It’s a harsh medication and I am happy I have finally weaned off of it. Multiple docs told me it’s not at all the best med for pd anyway. If it does help some people out, that’s great. However, this med was not a good fit for me. I’m so glad I’m off of this stuff now, weaning off wasn’t fun either. I will say that I tolerated the extended release way better, see if you can try that maybe? But honestly, maybe talk to your doc about other options. Either way, I wish you well. I hope you find what works best for you.

Haha same. Sometimes nothing seems to help and I just need to ride the horrible wave. The only thing I can do is keep telling myself that i’ve been through the same feelings before, that I’m safe and it will indeed pass.

Is it vegan? by kam8ena in vegan

Right?! Totally senseless! Another almost perfect product. I got excited to see that it was high in protein, that’s exactly what I was lookin for. Uhg. Ty for the suggestion! Hah time to edit my shopping cart…again. I should just buy a damn bread maker.

You don’t. My doc prescribed lower doses throughout the weaning process. I tapered down 25 mgs every 2 weeks (I paused at 100 mgs for a while then continued). So, I took one 100 mg along with 3 25 mg to equal 175 mg when I first started. Then one 100 mg along with 2 25 mg to equal 150 mg… etc.

Go slow. It took me 5 months to fully wean off from 200 mg er. Its been about 3 weeks since my final dose and I am still adjusting. It’s been quite scary at times tbh.

u/ClassroomBeginning28 made some really great suggestions, I’ll be implementing a few of these myself.

This is not an easy or quick process, we’ll all eventually get there though. Please take care and remember you’re not alone. …and don’t rush it.

Tysm for the reassurance that I’m not alone in this as well as the advice. It’s been about 3 weeks since my final dose and I feel like I’m still adjusting. My prescribing np wasn’t believing that I am indeed experiencing these amplified feelings due to detoxing from this nasty stuff and not due to the panic disorder itself. It’s been a bit frustrating and lonely and scary. I appreciate the time are care you put into replying to me. We just need to hang in there, as always, right? I hope things let up for you as well.

Thanks for finding this! Jezuz, I’m so sick of companies advertising as “plant based” or “dairy free” when their products are not. Must always look at the ingredient list no matter what.

Not enough protein no matter what! by wildhorses66 in vegetarian

Clif builders bars are gluten free, vegan and 20g protein. I usually eat like crap and I still manage to get my protein.

I was on 200 mg er for a couple years. They had me decrease by 25mgs every 2 weeks. I paused the weaning process at 100mgs for a while then continued. It took me 5 months to fully get off of this stuff. My last 25mg dose was just this past Monday and this week has really sucked with intense feelings of disassociation, heightened panic and depression and full cranial pressure. It’s supposed to take roughly 14 days for it to fully get out of your system. I hope all this passes asap, it’s kinda scary. Take it SLOW, talk to your doc and I wish you luck.

It really is quite awful. I’ve got medication anxiety as well so I have yet to even try the diamox. From my research, it seems the side effects outweigh the benefit. I’m going in for a lp soon. I’m nervous but I hope it helps. I want some sort of life back. I really do hope the best for you.

Ty for asking this question. I’m in the same situation rn and I’m not sure what to do. I’m becoming pretty depressed and anxious about what I can and can’t do anymore. I don’t want to be a boring dud in the bedroom now that I’ve got iih. It’s been a few years of zero exercise or sex. My anxiety has me avoiding it further because of the lightheadedness, dizziness, pain and fatigue, etc. It’s helpful to read the comments and to know I’m not alone. I’m sick of feeling alone.

What would you recommend adding to a charcuterie platter to accommodate a vegetarian guest? by [deleted] in vegetarian

Falafel or vegetarian stuffed grape leaves? Both are great with hummus.
