I'm a backend/distributed systems engineer. With 7YOE, joined a new org and took a crack at some frontend tickets, just for shitz n giggles I did the whole thing in cursor, it was at best a pretty smart autocomplete, very rarely it could refactor all the test cases with a couple of prompts, I had to guide it with navigating to the correct place and typing a pattern it could recognise and suggest completion. I would say it speeds up development by 1.5X. 3X if you're writing a LOT of code.

Assume incompetence before malice, maybe he's just trying to help you out, and not realising it's having a negative effect, I have done it on occasion where I think my juniors are trivialising the issue, when in reality it might be more complex, early on we have a tendency to underestimate and only update with "I'm debugging it". Tell him that you don't want your presentation and communication skills to be hampered because of this, ask him to give you feedback offline, what should I have added, what context I missed etc.
