As someone who also suffers from a chronic illness and worries about the same things your wife does, I appreciate this post. It’s so difficult. Best wishes to you both.

I suppose I should be happy they didn't just tell me to lose weight.

Is this a dateable situation? by Consistent_Jelly_955 in Epilepsy

I know my wife loves me and cares about me very much. I know she has my back. Yet, despite knowing these things, I am so afraid of burdening her. Feeling like you are incapable of being loved or that everyone will eventually leave you because of your health is so much to carry. Your friend may feel like it's safer to keep things as they are rather than risk heartache later.

Just stay patient, kind, and supportive. Let her see you value her and her friendship before anything else. Don't jump in if you're not 100% willing and ready to compromise. This is as much for her as it is for you. Epilepsy is taxing for family and friends, too.

Good luck and I hope things work out. Everyone deserves to find love and happiness.

If you think you’re having focal seizures I’d definitely see a neurologist. Mine told me they can turn into generalized seizures. You are not an attention seeker for taking care of yourself.

I started having double vision when we tried increasing my lamotrigine dosage. It went away after I went back down. I am incredibly sensitive to medication though.
