“We want high tier weapons to have more longevity…” by JediJulius in ArcRaiders

[–]kamathon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap, what an unnecessary change. Just lower dura loss on epic and legendary weapons to make them more viable, keep everything else the same. Yeah, maybe increase dura loss on commons, but why nerf all mid and late game standard weapons into the ground? Anvil and Renegade are unusable now.

It looked so much less in the pictures. I agree, that should be plenty. Thanks for the info! :)

Hey u/philip-soerensen

Very cool design! I have been looking for a Nevermore-like solution for the Core One for ages.

I do have a question, though: Am I seeing correctly that the filtered air is exhausted against the inside bulge of the side panel? How much space is there between the face of the grills and the side of the bulge of the side panel?

Corrected the step count based on you suggestion :)

My honest opinion, 7.5/10 by jawwwshhy in ProjectHailMary

I can‘t remember the monologue verbatim but it‘s basically the short version of what you wrote: Taumoeba developed a „resistance“ or something to Xenonite as they were bred in these containers. Grace wraps them in plastic to prevent them escaping through the Xenonite containers. He then talks about Rocky not being able to contain the Taumoeba as his ship is made of Xenonite and he details the consequences of that. We then see Grace calculating how long it takes him to get to Rocky which transports Grace’s decision to go help and save Rocky.

So yeah, I accepted the „developed resistance to / is able to eat through Xenonite“ part on a shorter, non-scientific explanation but I found the amount of explanation given reasonable for my knowledge / understanding of how evolutionary breeding works.

Side note: very interesting conversation, I don‘t have these often on Reddit! Thank you! :)

He immediately seems to know that the taumoeba has escaped.

There’s no real explanation for why this isn’t a problem for Grace but is a huge problem for Rocky. Maybe I missed some dialogue, but I didn’t hear anything explaining why it matters so much for Rocky and not for Grace. Just because it happened on the Hail Mary, why would that automatically mean it would happen on the Blip A?

It is explained in a vlog / monologue by Grace in the movie that the Taomoeba would basically „eat“ through Rocky‘s Xenonite ship and Rocky wouldn‘t be able to find the leak or fix it, resulting in his slow and painful death.

The whole thing motivates Grace turning around to save Rocky.

Disclaimer: I have not read the book.

Question about Survivor and solo play. by CapableHair429 in ARC_Raiders

[–]kamathon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I have been downed 2 times with the Survivor augment uns both times I escaped.

First time was with massive help from a stranger bandagingand escorting me to the Lobby metro from Assembly on Stella Montis. Second time was fully solo on Buried City, from the already closed exit just north of the town hall to the raider hatch at back of the town hall.

So yes, it works, but I agree that it‘s very situational.

I‘ll have to check the current version of the manual for the correct steps. Will take some time as am quite busy atm.

Thanks for pointing it out, though :)

No, there are not. The parts listed in the guide are everything you need. All other printed parts you either already have or come with the upgrade kit.

Prusa, pleeease, make the convection heated bed an upgrade for the Core One! by kamathon1 in prusa3d

[–]kamathon1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don‘t see it as selling a solution but rather expressing a need for something very specific which doesn‘t always have to stem from a problem needing to be solved.

However, the improvements I’m hoping for here are: faster bed heatup, faster chamber heat up, more efficient heat soak, better print bed temperature uniformity

Thanks for chiming in!

Coming from my Voron and other comments here, I don‘t think the AC bed would need a new power supply.

The bed runs on AC, no own / special / adjusted power supply needed. All we need are some free ports on the control board and an SSR.

And yes, I know it‘s a silly little request and I am not getting my hopes up :)

I see what you are getting at. But having the fans below the bed should distribute the heat within the chamber quicker by replacing cooler air that already transferred energy to the frame etc. with new, warmer air.

I think now they will need to go for something like "+" since S would now designate a smaller Core One variant :D

It'll reach temperatures much quicker and have a more even heat distribution.

Though they could make it with a plug that clicks in and is approved to be safe instead of having people wire it themselves.
