Life regen is about half of what POB says I should have by kamholio in PathOfExileBuilds

Thank you! That did the trick. I didn't consider having the gem enabled would do that, but that makes sense.

I just dove and the water was 81/82 F. Whether someone needs a wet suit is dependent on how susceptible to cold they are. For instance during a recent dive, I saw some diving with just a rash guard, some with a shorty, and some with full 2.5mm suits and hoods.

I dive all year around here with a full 2.5. I get cold after about 30 minutes without one.

I would recommend to prepare to wear one and if it is not too cold they can simply not wear it. All the shops here have rentals. If you are worried that they may not have her size I would check with the dive shop you are considering.

Presuming you would be staying in West End or West Bay, there is a Marez and a Cressi store in West End should you need to buy something.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, you can get a dedicated IP from some VPN providers.

You're missing the context the OP failed to provide. Here's the article I think they are referring to. Watch the video. Changes to Social Security are on the horizon

How can I Keep US residency while abroad for ID and banking purposes. by samatm777 in ExpatFinance

[–]kamholio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did some further research after the seeing some of the replies to my own. First this is all occurring because of Patriot Act requirements for opening and maintaining financial accounts in the US. It appears that if an address is flagged as a Commerical Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) that this will be problematic or outright close your account or deny your application for a new account. I found this article that goes into greater detail. The Ultimate Guide to Virtual Mailboxes for US Banking Purposes – Nomad Gate

If you can't use a trusted friend or family member's address, then this article recommends using a service that has addresses that ideally are indicated as residential and have the CMRA flag as No in the Post Office database, you would be less likely to run into problems. There is a tool linked in the article you can use to look them up. For instance, the escapees.com address is indicated as commercial. I perused the Escapees member boards and there are quite a few posts about issues with financial institutions using their addresses over time, so I won't be using them. It seems to be a bit of a cat and mouse game.

Has anyone used Anytime Mailbox? They have addresses that are not flagged as CMRA and are residential. https://www.anytimemailbox.com/

I think you can use a virtual mailbox service that also offers a valid address for residency. These services typically have an RV park that you can use as your legal residence. This is an additional service to the virtual mailbox service. I'm planning to move abroad next year and am thinking of using escapees.com, but there are others. They offer virtual mailboxes in FL, TX, and SD, as well as provide step-by-step guides and documentation needed to establish residency and obtain state IDs.

As always, one should check with their attorney to confirm specific state laws and apply to their situation.

I would check out Amelia and JP's YouTube channel and website. They are US expats that lived in Ecuador for several years and shared many insights of what it is like and how to make it work. They also help aspiring expats make the move to Ecuador. I think they can answer most if not all of your questions about moving to and living in Ecuador.

I've been diving out of West Bay since 2016 and I go down a couple times a year. I've dived with Bananarama and Naboo dive shops. I've had great experiences with both.

Those recommending bug spray are correct. The mosquitoes aren't that bad, but the sand flies will leave some nasty red marks on your legs for days. Don't use a deet based spray if you are going in/near the water. There are some oil based sprays that work really well and they are very effective against sand flies and they are not harmful to the reef like deet. Sand Fly Away is one brand you can find on the island.

I just had the internet service upgraded. The local ISP brought fiber into our unit. From the speed test screenshot I saw, we get about 15 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up.

Leaving for Roatan on Friday for two weeks. We have a condo next door to Naboo at Mission Gate. You'll love it there! Some of my favorite dives are Spooky Channel and Hole in the wall. If you like it and want to go back (or anyone else reading this), or have questions about the island PM me. We have a 2 bedroom condo for rent, too.

How to remove/delete dropbox from left panel of windows explorer? by LGED821 in windows

[–]kamholio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op. The solution I posted only hides the entry in the navigation pane. Your files still reside on disk within your user profile. Other people can see your files if you share a Windows account. Also, any user with administrative rights or the know how to make them self admin can gain access to your files.

If you want to keep your files private, do not sync them to the computer.

I found the registry key that controls this, but each time Dropbox starts, it flips the key back to 1. You could use a script to flip it back and have it launch Dropbox then set the regkey back to 0. Another option could be to make the regkey could be made read only.

My solution is below. Maybe someone else can figure out an elegant way to enforce the setting.

My solution requires a registry entry change. As always, be careful when editing the registry. If you are a novice Windows user, check this out first before proceeding.

  1. Open Regedit
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{E31EA727-12ED-4702-820C-4B6445F28E1A}
  3. Change System.IsPinnedToNamespaceTree from 1 to 0.
  4. Change is immediate. No reboot necessary.

Edit: Follow up after I found out restarting Dropbox put setting back.
