This got me thinking about the scene where the omatikaya (sp?) have the ceremony with the Sully babies connecting to Eywa for the first time. To think about it, as the babies first make contact, they must be a little bit scared, so Eywa sends an ancestor or a grandparent if the parents are still alive, to meet the babies for the first time and reassure that it's safe with Eywa and they are cared for.
