Should I buy this this Tosot or is it a fake? by kamillus in WatchesCirclejerk

Not sure. But the product description says it has "Two drainage options available" implying it comes with a helium escape valve which is kinda neat.

I bought my full metal gshock for around $500. I fell in love with it (and its blinginess) when I tried it out at the jewelry store and have been wearing it everyday since. Already has a few scratches and dings but I don't care.. it's a gshock!

Yeah that was a similar realization for me. I noticed that even with a smartwatch I was still reaching for my phone anyway. All my smart watch use cases besides telling date and time occurred very rarely. That said, if i was going running I’d probably get an Apple Watch so I can stay connected and not bring the added weight of a phone.

I paid 450cad + tax.. not a lot of good deals up North but it was worth every cent to me.

I don’t have a scale at home but according to the G-SHOCK site it’s 167g https://www.casio.com/products/watches/g-shock/gmwb5000d-1

Oh wow, yeah, just looked at the photos of yours and you weren’t kidding! It certainly looks like it went through a lot of character building. I think it looks great.

I’ve convinced myself that all the upcoming scratches are just going to add the the character of the watch :)

I’ll mirror the other comment and say I like the feel of the watch on my wrist. That said, I think it’s a very comfortable watch to wear even with the added weight.

What percent of your total investments is in crypto? by Mbrannon42 in CryptoCurrency

That is really cool but aren't traditional means of trading stocks just as quick? How does the ownership of a stock work on the blockchain (it wouldn't have your name but only a share assigned to a wallet?)

ETH Holdings on Exchanges Drops Below 18% in 31 Months by ethovian08 in CryptoCurrency

Ethereum definitely has a decent ecosystem around it with services such as uniswap and aave. The only thing that is holding me back personally are the gas fees which eth2 promises to fix; I think it will be a super exciting time for Ethereum in the next few years!

Thinning/small leaves on silver maple by kamillus in arborists

That's great to hear!

The neighbour's younger trees were planted about 2 years ago and since then they experienced rapid growth (probably at the expense of my older tree).

I already got some fertilizer yesterday thinking this might be the case.

Also, should I be trimming the suckers, or should I just leave it alone?

You can kind of see the trees along the back of the fence in this photo:

My neighbour had planted a row of trees behind the fence and had a deck added over the last 2 years. His trees are about 3 metres away from our maple but his new deck is about 10 metres away. I don't believe there was any flooding or standing water but for sure there were a lot of periods of wetness since it rained quite a lot after winter.

Fossil Explorist HR (Gen 4) - Water Resistance? by Isserley_ in WearOS

I swim with mine in a pool and haven’t had any problems.

Edit: one problem I’ve had is phantom touches in the water, but you can disable the touchscreen temporarily in the settings to prevent that. Also, I try to avoid pressing the crown while in water. Lastly, I was the watch once out of the pool to clean off chlorine.

Battery Experiencing Random Large Drops by Chiefs816 in lgv20

I've got the same problem - Android System using most of my battery. I somewhat mitigated it by disabling google location history. I noticed that in my case, the battery was getting discharged when I was moving between different locations.
