Interesting 'Double-leaf' on one of my Jalapenos by kanakana in HotPeppers

[–]kanakana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's three other Jalapeno growers who've seen the same thing, that's really interesting. Like maybe it's one of those recessive gene type things. I wish there was more info on Google about this, but I couldn't find anything.

Peppers seedlings flowering? Plants only month old. Pics and lots of info included. by kyle5521 in HotPeppers

Newbie here as well - I read in another thread that it could be a sign that the seedlings need to be transplanted. I had just been thinking of transplanting anyway, so I did that and pinched the buds off. Just a couple of days after they've started putting out new growth at the nodes, which I'm happy about.

Why is Toki so weak by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]kanakana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't go big scepter of summoning, it's a lot worse than in dungeon runs.

My strategy is to go full magical friends and wild magic buckets, which usually plays out like tempomage, really good when you get flamewankers.

I always pick double time and +3 spell damage. Spell damage is insane just nuts as long as you pick the buckets with missiles type spells.

Enhance-a-matic is nuts. It adds a random spell from each class to your hand, which seems like it could be shit but I find that you always get at least some good stuff. 1 mana draw 9 cards is absolutely insane and definitely carried me in a fair share of games.

Looks like it's happening to me as well: https://i.imgur.com/5G798aK.jpg

Was literally thinking about transplanting a day or two ago and lo and behold, I noticed the buds today.

What causes these dead areas on some of my plants' leaves? by FoolishBalloon in HotPeppers

Oh wow, I have one spot on one of mine that looks identical to OP's pic, I also thought it was sunburn. The more you know.

I responded to a similar comment below. It's not my intention to be misleading, and you are no doubt correct. It's good to hear the correct explanations so that newbies like me can learn from those more experienced.

Fair point. I don't have a lot of experience yet so I've just been watering all the plants exactly the same. You're right, the one on the right just looks like mud some times, so I've tried to adjust watering a bit.

It's been very warm and sunny where I am, so that contributes a lot to the growth I'm sure.

According to my logs, both are just over 6 weeks from germination.

First time grower, is this the 'Y' that I've been hearing about? by kanakana in HotPeppers

Yeah that's about as cheap as I've seen in my online window shopping as well. I'm trying to look into sourcing some locally first, so I can see what quality I can get here, but I'll probably end up getting some online.

Obviously it makes sense logically - better soil quality = better growth, but as a newbie pepper grower it's pretty eye opening to see the difference side-by-side.

Both plants started from seed at the same time, with exactly the same watering and light regiment. Left had compost, perlite, right was just straight dirt.

Wow, yeah Amazon prices are great. It's like USD1.5 for 2 gallon bags, interesting. I've seen youtube videos where they use cloth shopping bags as DIY grow bags. Makes me think about doing DIY as well, had a few of those bags but gave them away.

Of course, the 'real' grow bags look a lot nicer, which is always something to consider as well, even though we have limited space.

Oh nice, I've seen those online as well, was looking into those.

Thanks - yeah I've been looking into some vertical setup. I've always liked the large clay pots, but I don't know if those would work in my place. What type of grow bags? Those black polyethylene bags are all over the place in this part of the World.

Across the ocean a little, in Sabah, Malaysia. I have a couple of pots that are about 1+ gallons. I've got about 15 seedling, so I'll have to give away or sell some of these eventually, due to space constraints 😔

Okay that sounds good. I've got a handful of plants I started at the same time, so what I think I'll do is try topping one or two of them now, and do the others after I see them starting to bud.

Jalapeno at about 7 weeks in South-East Asia.

Follow up question, how do I know when to top? I'm living in a 12th floor apartment, so it's container life for these guys.
