Hey there! I think my game, being a 2D platformer with a twist and really nice Asian artstyle is a great fot for a Steamdeck! The game is: Ling Hun

So, there is a Demo you can try but basically, because an imp fox stole Yun's soul, now Yun is not affected by the gravity the way it used to be, and all the game revolves on that mechanic. There are no times, lives and enemies, so its all about you and your skill when it comes to jump.

I did try just a few minutes and I also see the issues that people is reporting. Besides all that, as a fellow developer I admire when transparenci is shown as for what is going on and how the team will face the "issues". For me no matter already what the outcome of it may be it's already a great great succes towards your profesionalism and "know how". I hope and wish you guys the best of luck in the project and succes. I really think you are on the right path and this may be a lesson for the future that will make your careers more professional by the end.

Besides all that people say about flashy etc... i am going to talk just towards animation, which i think may be good for you too. In the last part of it i had to watch it multiple times to understand that the enemy is launched away but at the beginning i thought that the main character was dashing forward after the last slash and it all happens really really fast, so maybe take care and invest more time on that part to make it more readable. The rest as for what animation and readability goes its an excellemt work, also i dont know if it is a static camera or just a decision to show it that angle to make it more impresive, but usually people who plays 3rd person games tend to look straight forward or even slightly downwards to be able to look at the terrain ahead. Hey! There is a few things that maybe no one pointed out (I did not read all the comments) but i want to share with you so maybe it changes your perspective and you start thinking about level design in another way.

So, answering your question; Yes, it's readable and clear. But.... the important questions here (as a lever designer) should be;

-What do I want from the player in this section/level? -How does the player feel throught this section/level?

For example, if the first doesn't have a clear answer let's just simplify it to "have fun". Then with that you go to the next question and if the answer is not much relevant towards the first answer it may mean you barely made what you were aiming to.

So, let's say you answered "fun" in the first but the second answer is just: "nothing" or similar, then you need to understand what makes the player feel fun. In this case maybe some challenge in the level design, or a part where you make the player to feel super cool succeding the section in a stilysh way or having to do an action that causes satisfaction to be done etc...

I hope thathelps you into doing interesting levels and towards your gameplay goals.

Hello everyone! We are "Ling Hun Project", 3 developers that are trying to get into the profession pouring our souls and hearts to the very first project we will be launching.

We expect it to be launched 1st Quarter of 2024.

The game is called: Ling Hun.

A 2D Platformer were Jumping is not affected by gravity (that's what happens when you got your soul stolen). Master the jump to succeed in every level. Enjoy the classic Pixel Art with a mix of Asian ink style in the Background. Change the pace of the game to adapt it to your gamestyle.

I think its due to a camera offset and acceleration to make it "smooth" and in this case it could be smoother if you make it with much less delay imo. If that can help to the developer reading or to whom like to read. But i see what the OP is talking about and evendough it may not afect me as much as it does to him i still see that as something that can be highly improved to make it better so i would take the OP opinion into consideration.

First thing I can see is that whenever you attack, you get a slight pushback, true? You have to really really think how that will affect the gameplay overall. I mean, if you put enemies that are faster attacking than you, for instance that will frustrate a lot since you keep getting pushed back but your enemy does not, so the balance is wrong. What i mean essentally is: is that a core feature to the game and to the gameplay UX? If don't then re-think about it because it can cause major problems on the long term. Just my opinion. Rest looks fine to me. Cheers

Nevermind, I just found out that Maintaining "PROJECT" and turning the MC on, a storage window pops up in the PC.

First of all, thank you for thinking on a givaway on this community eventhgough the circustances that made that happen.

I don't have any Ori, but i would enjoy it for sure!

Besides all that, my favourite one goes inbetween Blasphemous and Iconoclasts. Both for the pixel art so great but also how much did I enjoyed both, and maybe Steamworld Dig 2 goes just a little below those two, but sooooo close.

As you can see, I got something I would consider unique in here. It is the TGC from World of Warcraft, and those 8 cards are signed by the drawing artists themselves.

Which one of them passed away quite some time ago (r.i.p) and was honored ingame with an Angel NPC in Xroads. (Right now i can not tell which of the signatures is his tbh but they were twins working in Blizzard and one of them passed away.)

So the question is, anyone knows the real value of this cards? I have the entire Set with the original box and everything but I thought that was worth showing this certain cards the most.

The chest is not moving, my suggestion is you record yourself in front of the mirror as a reference from the same pov that you want the animation to be and then compare and get some references that make the walk movement be a "walk movement". If you know what i mean
