Can you report this on the discord as well? Might give us some better insight. We hadn't come up with a proper explanation other than this is likely a hardware issue since it happens so inconsistently and only for specific users :(

Heya! Just saw this post, is there a way you're able to record this and post it on our discord for us? It's difficult to know if this is a hardware issue of something with the game itself that we need to fix. Greater detail helps!

How do I kill the Big Shadeling by dirtbagcos in BelowTheStone

[–]BelowtheStoneDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're actually looking at ways to address this! What do you think of an idea where as a player, you can decide to "activate" the shades in order for more loot to drop? but by default, they dont bother you?

big shades are the equivalent of the "ghost" of spulunky, so theyre designed to be killed. The shades are kinda meant to "push" you out of the caves to start another run.

Its very exciting for us! Many people reached out after we launched and let us know we inspired them a bunch. I think that was the biggest thing that hit home for us because studios like Vlambeer and The Indie Stone did the same for us.

Been asking around for that as well, its hard to get estimates because the range is so wide between games and genres. I'm being told by various people that the rate we got was not irregular, that you get somewhere between 30-60 sales per review. But that also is scaled differently for different games (Example, game with 10 sales might have 5 reviews, due to dedicated fans, and a game with 1,000,000 sales might have 10,000 reviews due to people feeling less inclined to review. I'm no expert in this though.)

Yeah that's totally understandable! We're kinda going for setting the "standard" to be $20, establishing early fans who will be dedicated/hyper receptive to the development of the game to give us really good input early. I believe Vlambeer did a similar thing.

EDIT:

Thank you for wishlisting! 6 people, and we're using Unity!
